The other day I took my two granddaughter’s to a sit down burger joint here in N.C. Well known in the area......” HWY 55 “ I just had a burger with four choices of meatless toppings....I only chose 2.....all which came to the same price. I had a burger with Sautéed onions and mushrooms. The cost of the burger was $7.59 plus tax...without fries!!! I’ll take a Hardee’s swiss onion 1/3 pounder with a 2-for the price of one coupon any day of the week. Even my wallet said “ ouch “ at HWY 55 when I paid the bill.....$36.87 for three people to have a burger and fries. Next time........Hardee’s please👌👍👍

Wish Arbys did burgers...they would most likely get it right...they already have the fries, why not the burgers?

A burger would make good sense. Corporate is most likely afraid a burger on their menu might take over as number one seller!!!

We get Arbys about every other month for the French Dip or Sandwich with gooey cheese. Years ago the had ArbyQ roast beef slathered in BBQ sauce was just not good for you but good.

Arbys has come a long way...many years ago their roast beef was excellent...even had the steamboat round rotating in the warmer, then their food went to crap...used to stop at one in Limon outside Colorado Sprgs., a shortcut to I-70..they even had soup during the winter months...after that I didn't eat in an Arby til Ted mentioned their food had improved..alot...so now they are a stop off point when we have to take the "baby" to the vet...their food has greatly improved...especially their lamb gyros.

I found a Sonic that has cheese burgers with everything and their great tater tots and small drink for $7.42 I get one around twice a month. Definately worth the stop ! Some may not like their burgers but they work well for me !

Sonic has the best ice you can even buy a bag of it. The Route 44 drinks are a great when the temps climb and eating tots makes you feel younger .

I had a burger today at The Burger Stand in Taos. $9.75 for an 8 ounce Angus burger with applewood smoked bacon and gouda cheese cooked to my order of "rare" on a bun which held up until the last bite. Perhaps the best Burger I have had in a long time. Fries were another $3. Duck Fat Fries are $4. Truffle Oil Fries are $5. Kobe Beef Burger is $11.20. Homey don't need to go there!
With it was an excellent NM lager on draft.

John, what you ate was a gourmet burger.....worth every cent compared to what my granddaughter’s and I ate yesterday. We did not have Angus meat, but paid as much!!! Glad you had a gourmet meal my friend 👍👍👍

I worked for a meat company that was the first distributor of Certified Angus Beef in northern California... I can vouch for the excellence having worked there for eight years and did blind sample tests.
I can agree with a friend of mine that has been in the business for 50 years. “Remember when you had steak that was phenomenal, and really made an impression? That is what CAB does consistently”
The rigorous grading standards made me a believer 20 years ago, and I haven’t budged an inch in my perception.
Not sure if John had CAB, but angus is better on it’s own overall... CAB is the cream of that crop.
How I long for the wholesale prices I got in the 1980’s.
The flank steak fajita’s.... pure bliss.

Wish Arbys did burgers...they would most likely get it right...they already have the fries, why not the burgers? This is a true statement... Arby's has the best fries of any fast food chain I know! (Ok, 5 Guys is up there too.) I'll bet you're right, they'd make a good burger...

As some here know, I'm a road warrior. Each week finds me headin to the airport on Mon or Tue and flyin somewhere up and down the East Coast meeting up with one of my Sales Engineers & or customers.
This week was no different. Wednesday I made the 1 1/2 hour drive to RDU and was there @ 10 am for my 11:30 flight to Miami. After several delays my flight was eventually cancelled and unfortunately there were no flights available the rest of the day. This didn't work for me, as I had an important meeting Thursday morning with an important client as well as 3 of my staff.
The ladies at the Admirals Club helped me arrange a flight out of Greensboro, getting me there @ midnight vs 3pm like I'd hoped for. So, I got back out to my car and made the 1 1/2 hour drive over to GSO and caught the flight.
What's this got to do with burgers you might ask? Well, when I got through security and made my way to the American concourse I discovered that they had closed the Admirals Club permanently back in Oct 2018. So, I found an airport restaurant, looked over the menu and decided on a Bacon Cheddar burger.
It was surprisingly good.
When I tabbed out, the total came to $22.00 for a burger and a beer, before the tip! Granted, airport food is stupid $$. But I gotta tell ya, that was one fine burger. Admittedly, not $22 good, but good nonetheless.
p.s. We got the Sale! ;-)

This is why when I am here in the USA I don't eat out anymore. I'm 70 years old and I let the microwave do the cooking.

Our 2 favorite local burger joints both sell their basic burgers for $6.95. Petes is a 1/3 lb and includes fresh cut fries. Hippo Burger is just a half pound of the best tasting burger I've ever had.

When I was a kid, a burger with fries was all of about 50¢. It's the end of Western Civilization.

White Castle was 10 for $1 in 1967. That was a value I never forgot.

Yesterday was a 10oz roadkill steak smothered in onions and mushrooms floating in brown gravy, fires, dinner salad 9.99. I had lunch and dinner off that baby. I am so glad I am not in NYC as I could not afford to eat.

Can't beat the burgers in Texas...went to a place called Willie's right down the road from Rudys BBQ in San Antonio...best burgers and BBQ that I have ever eaten...chicken,.. Bill Millers is the place to go. East coast, West coast right in the middle...Texas still has the best all American food. You want exotic, then head up to Seattle...bout anything you could possibly hope for right there in Seattle.

You can also pay a ridiculous amount for a new Kirsten Pipe in Seattle. The owner is a female with a poor attitude!!!

The BEST coffee roll is made by a baker at Wake Med Hospital on New Bern in Raleigh 👌👍👍. Yup, if I want the best I make a stop at the hospitals bakery.......lol. Go figure

Yes it was … not always the best but decent enough and priced right!
Back in the day, many hospital cafeterias were managed by Marriot. However, I feel they do better on their own as your baker at Wake Med has shown.

Plus @ Wake Med and UNC Hospitals you can order from 5 different local restaurants that deliver food to your room at no extra charge for your hospital stay. Excellent care in this State 👍👍👍👍👍

I like McDonalds, because nobody judges you at McDonalds, because everyone there is already eating at McDonalds.
