I think it's pretty much agreed that plastic sandwich bags are pretty good for carrying small quantities of tobacco. But I'm looking for something more durable. Found these on Amazon: Smell Proof Stash BagAny chance anybody has used these? Whaddya think?

If you read the description it says and I quote..."trap contain and remove the odor of anything you put inside." To me that means it will pull the odor of your tobacco and perhaps remove it which is something you don't want. Just my opinion, think about it. Seems to be primarily for those who are carrying pot.

I recycle my plastic bags from Sterling Tobacco because Jack uses top quality bags that are too good to throw away. He also offers them for sale separately.

I use Ziplock Freezer bags which I use to store my bulk tobacco. Ball jars would be ideal but I've been doing it this way for over 30 years with great results. I have over 130 bulk blends on hand and jarring them would be quite the task space wise, not to factor in all the tins I have put away to age.

Pouches, zip locks, bags from tobacco shops range from pathetic to very good. So, YMMV, and caveat emptor and all that. Double or triple bagging can solve a lot of shortcomings.

Not to digress too far off the original topic, but that's not usually the case. I'm not necessarily pro-Amazon--in fact I'm becoming a little more anti-Amazon--but they just make things too darn easy. And because I live in the Seattle area, I'm even more spoiled. Many times, I'll order something one evening and its on my doorstep the following morning. And then there are many things I can order in the morning and have it at my door same day. No shipping costs--of course this is only with Prime membership.

To have something the next day at no shipping cost (if you're a Prime member) is just amazing, compared to the old days.

As to baggies (forgot to mention in the last post - old age, I guess), I always transfer from baggies to jars. I use a pouch to carry tobacco when going out. Best and safest for storage.

I use mylar zip lock bags from Amazon and I am very pleased with them. Same - 100 bags for like $13 bucks. I have stored baccy in them for a year and it is still moist.
