I’m smoking my second bowl of Mississippi River by Seattle Pipe Club in my iL Ceppo Dublin. Mississippi River reminds me of Butera Dark. I can taste marble kake sweetness and I’m very curious how this blend would be after 5-12 years in the cellar. If Marble Kake is used then it’s amazin what adding the right amount of Perique, orientals and Latakia can do. I don’t taste the Latakia, orientals or Perique but I rubbed it out. Later I’ll let some flakes dry out and smoke them whole as possible.

We had our monthly meeting of the New Orleans Pipe Club last night. I sampled some:
Penny Farthing Gawith Limited Edition 2015 Drucquer & Sons Inns of Court McConnell Ripe Honeydew.
The B&M had just received the Gawith Limited Edition's 2013, 2014 and 2015 blends in the 100 gram tins. Don't know where they found all three blends because they show as being out of production on tobacco reviews. I decided on the 2015 even though it was more than I usually pay for a tin. The tobacco was dryer than I like but it will easily rehydrate. I imagine the 2013 and 2014 were dry also.
I also bought a tin of McConnell's Ripe Honeydew.

Some McCelland's 2010 this morning, from an old and well hidden pt.jar...the pipe of choice is a B.C. billiard that I've owned since 1978...got it at the Tinder Box ,here in Richmond, and managed to break the stem in less than a week.
I don't know who did repairs for the TB back then, but they re-stemmed it in horn for the hearty sum of thirteen bucks...a good deal, even back then ,and even more so now that I'm clenching with man made choppers.

I have been smoking union Square and aged Luxury Bullseye flake today...great smokes. But...a few days ago I smoked some aged Motzek Strang...I have to say...in a field of great tobacco's, Strang is in a league of it's own...subliminal from the first puff to the last, I am going to be sad when it is gone. What I have left will be for special occasions. I have a piece from Tom. I'm thinking about trying it again this weekend.
