any chance an accupuncture needle might help? They're really skinny. hp les Probably, but am fresh out of those! Did find a roll of wire around the house that fit, but it didn't go in too far. Don't know if that's the construction of the valve, or it's hitting an obstruction. Am waiting for the delivery of high quality butane to see it that could make it better. And, say, aren't you the guy who knows of Burlington Arcade blend, (from Harry S. Tint & Sons, Philly)? Yo Mac - indeed I am. I've got the big tin of BA plus some BA Light set aside for the next time I come out to the Bay Area for more than 36 hours (which I did in April and May). hp les

I have had issues with the Ronson in my Xikar lighter that has tools built into it. I have had great success with the Zippo butane. By chance, have you played with the flame wheel any? Just asking because my Xikar will miss-light if the flame is turned down

Got the Xikar butane fuel in, purged the lighter, put the Xikar fuel in, waited a few minutes, same result. Lighter will not light. Any more suggestions?

Is the element heating? Will it burn if you manually light it? Some lighters, when turned up high flame will not light due to the pressure blowing out the flame. So, if it passes one and two, try different settings for flame height.

My only lighter problem is that no one in Houston seems to sell flints anymore. Auto correct keeps insisting on Flintstones

The spark is aenemic though, and I don't know how to proceed from this point. Not going to pay for a repair service, as I have bunch of other lighters that work fine. Still, love to fix things where possible, and the torch feature is handy to have in high winds.

I tried cleaning around the element and shot some compressed air in it and now it seems to be working fine.

I uses Zippo lighters with the pipe insert and always matches when indoors. I own over 75 Zippo lighters, three from my grandfather and my Dads Zippo from when he was a Marine in WWII. I treasure them all.

I bought a Colibri off Ebay form 70-80's made in Japan about a year back for a great price...it had a great flame angle, but trying to refill it, the gasket/O-ring at the filling port seems to be blown out...it will not seal, and no one works on Japanese made Colibri's.
I keep returning to my Zippo for most smokes...the tank of lighters.
