Hello, I'm not sure where to start but I'll try. My name is Scott and I live in the Foothills of NC. I'm a retired law enforcement officer, and I've been smoking a pipe for about 25 years now. I love Va-pers and aromatics. I'm not a fan of Latakia or English blends. I don't really have a favorite pipe shape, but seem to prefer Billiards, Bent Billiards, and Apples. I was gifted a large amount (about 30) of used pipes some time ago, and the story behind them is that they belonged to a composer/friend of Bing Crosby. I investigated the name at the time (which I can't remember now) and sure enough the name was associated with Mr. Crosby, but I can't verify if the info that was given to me was true or not. Although, it does make for a kind of a neat idea to think that I own some pipes that was associated in some way with old Bing. Either way, the pipes have all been smoked "to death," and most have been burned thru the bowl. They are in pretty rough shape. Whoever owned them was a very serious smoker. I do smoke some of the ones that are usable on a regular basis. Anyway, that's about it for now. Thanks for letting me be a part of this group!

That only adds to the provenance...Bing was quite a smoker, and I suspect infectious.
Glad to have you aboard, thank you for your service in public safety....We have a few guys that meet up in North Carolina for a smoke, keep your eyes peeled on the threads.
