I use powdered coffee creamers, Coffee Mate, N'Joy (Costco), Food Club (Topco). It seems I am using twice the amount these days to lighten my coffee. My feeling is that all these formulations have been cheapened. Has anyone else in other parts of the country noticed this?

I used to use coffee mate all the time. I haven't in ages. Maybe it's time I bought some more and tried it again.

Coffee Mate seems unchanged to me. I try to use milk, but I use creamer several times a week.

I like my coffee very strong, so creamer barely even makes it turn orange. My dad said the same thing last week about his cream.
When I actually use cream I use Coffee Mate Hazlenut. It goes well with my Colombian. I drink my coffee black, or with a splash of honey 75% of the time.

Now I must say, when I use coffee mate, it's in conjunction with milk; not as a replacement.

Half and Half or farm fresh whole cream. But the last powdered cream I purchased was about useless the value brand was from Kroger. I like to keep some powder stuff around for the times I run out of the good stuff. Carnation powdered milk seems to have not changed I used some last month to make Navajo bread.

I am not a fan of any powdered dairy substitute or flavoring. Nor powdered coffee or tea. Or lemonade or...

Half and half or heavy cream. I keep a few cans of evaporated milk in case I run out.

Well you have never had Coffee Mate unless you had the original Coffee Mate.

Well you have never had Coffee Mate unless you had the original Coffee Mate. I cannot say that the original is better than what is offered now, as I stated I do not use it l, but these corporations fiddle with recipes all the time. Current Coca Cola vs the original available (that I grew up with) in the USA available in Mexico now, made with cane sugar. Original Taco flavor Doritos vs Nacho Cheese. It happens more than you might think. Truc asked the question, so there must be something to it.... in my opinion creamers suck.

There are a lot of things that are not as good as they used to be Hersheys chocolate for one was discussed here a few months ago along with crackers. The Frito chip is the one thing that tastes the same. I think so anyway. The bread where I live is not worth buying since Bimbo took over operations right after the takeover a employee in the shop told me they stopped using fresh milk, butter and sugar in the large quantities like the good old days.

I like the Kroger French vanilla version - liquid, not powdered ... and shaken, not stirred.

I used to use 1/2 & 1/2, but have been using powdered creamer for years. I haven’t noticed a difference, but I do believe there’s a saturation point where more creamer doesn’t make it any creamier. I like my coffee HOT, so that’s why I use the powdered stuff.

Yes, a few seconds- 30?- in the microwave will warm the milk or cream so that it doesn't bring down the temp too much.
I use an espresso machine to steam or foam my milk and it's added at about 140º.

Half and half is the only way to roll for me. So much so that I buy bulk at Costco. The powdered stuff was okay a decade ago, now its like pouring sand into coffee.

After reading the ingredients of Coffee Mate, I am going back to half and half. Bought some fat free half and half last week. That's a disturbing label.
