As a followup to the first car thread. Mine was a Subaru Brat that I ran the hell out of. It had the tail gunner seats in the bed and with a cap on it held 4 comfortably in all weather except for the coldest winter days. It had duel range 4WD so I was able to go places with it that all the standard 4x4's could go to. It had height adjustment bolts on the suspension to raise it an extra inch and a half and since there were not any "pumpkins" underneath it, my ground clearance was better than most standard 4x4's. Tires were super cheap, 185/70r13, so I was ran winter tires year round to help with my four wheeling. In the winter i used studded snow tires all around and also had tire cables for the most extreme winter weather. That Brat was a total winter beast. 4WD low range was not super low like the low range of full and mid sized 4x4's and that meant I won a crap ton of the local four wheel drive drag races the Lions sponsored a few times each summer. The first one I entered most everyone wanted me dis qualified for not using 4 Low and the judges were ready to do so until I had one ride with me to verify I was using 4 Low. Needless to say I did win a good bit of cash for a few years. I knew that I could beat everyone in the stock class so I started to enter into the "performance" class where guys spent thousands of dollars making their trucks very loud and shiny. Once again my Subaru took day to dismay of the performance truck owners and to the delight of the stock truck drivers.

I remember the Brat. Nice little 4X4 as are most by Subaru.
There have been so many cars and trucks in my life it is hard to pick one favorite. I guess that old Land Rover was the one I had the most fun in since I was young when I drove it and it truly went all over. Reliable, simple design. Slow, very slow. 55 MPH was top cruising speed. I could 60 with a tail wind. It could have used the Laycock De Normanville electric overdrive unit often used on other English cars.

I've had 39 cars. My 1994 Suburban was bought in 2000. Like the looks of it, safe with lots of metal, steel frame, and engine up front . Very comfortable seats. Easy and cheap to maintain and work on with the 350 engine that has 288K miles on it. Still able to put a sheet of 4x8 material in the back.
Suits me fine.

My current girl Lola. 2014 VW Passat V6 SEL
Not only a great car that I bought brand new, but I have only had three prior vehicles and they all sucked, so it's not even a contest.
Photo was taken at a friend's house in Philly- For those wondering why there is so much trash in the street.

Had to be the 76 Eldorado, owned for about 7 or more years till I just couldn't afford supporting it anymore. But, to this day I feel selling it was one of the dumbest things I've done, want it back to this day. It had the 500 cube in it and
no one ever successfully cut me off when getting on the highway. You could hear the secondaries kick in 2 blocks away. Didn't treat like a race car just kept it tuned like one. Getting off a long run I'd get in it and it would take me home in comfort. Sorry for the quality, I took this years ago on a old Argus and its a scan of it. Really doesn't do it justice.

Like Ronv69, I've owned a lot of cars. One of the best, a 1968 Mustang Fastback GT 390/auto. Purchased in 1973 for $1,050! 33,000 miles. Ford baby blue. A sweet ride. Lost it on black ice and went through a highway sign* at 50 mph. Major quarter panel damage but still drove. Traded it for a 1965 Mustang coupe 289 C.I./4 speed. *which Washington State billed me for.

I quite like the car I'm driving now, 2007 Pontiac Vibe. Pretty much a Toyota Matrix mechanically, but I like it's looks better. Fast enough, gets great milage, and it's a four door hatchback that you can get an amazing amount of stuff in. I've had a lot of cars over the years, from Alfa Romeo to Mercedes to Mustangs, but all of them were more expensive to maintain than this car. How's that for an uninteresting, old fart answer?

Best car ever most definitely my 99 Miata, green over tan leather. The green one is the fastest one, because I have bigger wheels (15" vs 14") than the other colors, plus the sport suspension, and a Torsen diff (works like a limited slip). Plus, I get the excellent Nardi steering wheel, then some stuff I don't want, like power windows and cruise control. I can outbrake and outturn anything - it's so communicative and precise, just joy every mile; nothing like it. And it doesn't leak oil Unfortunately, it sits in my garage, broken Next my old 88 CRX. It pushed like a mother, but was a fast cruiser, and I mean fast. Could fit a surprising amount of stuff in it too; one time I moved from one apartment to another, and only had to make one trip. Jewel of an engine. Those are the only two cars I've ever had that weren't crap.

I has a 2007 Vibe also, a great car that went through a hellacious hailstorm... the insurance adjuster must have regretted not totaling it out as when work was underway, the prices escalated. They re-skinned the roof and after several months I noticed that water was creeping inside, every rain meant a moldy smell... ozoned it and traded it in.

The car I went through College in. Drove that car everywhere. Dead shows. Up the Saint Lawrence to Nova Scotia and Fundy. Maine and the entire East coast. Hard to beat a 350. I'll get another one one day (I hope).

My first car was a gift from my dad on my seventeenth birthday. He gave me his 1984 Chevy s-10 blazer. At the time it had 80,000 + miles. Back then, that was a lot of mileage. The car required a lot of maintenance and I only drove it for about a year. I went to high school in an affluent area. More than some of my classmates drove new Mercedes and other high end cars. I guess I was raised differently. I worked in supermarket, and didn’t expect things to happen without hard work. I was so grateful for my blazer, and there’s something about that truck that always makes me happy.

I have been thinking hard on this since this thread was started. I have had a lot of cool and interesting cars and trucks. Iccan't say that my hemi Roadrunner was my favorite to drive, although it was the most fun. My 71 Thunderbird was a fantastic car, but I had it for only 3 months before I had a head-on with a semi. I enjoyed my 68 Torino GT convertible, but I was always frustrated by the lack of power. I loved the 98 Taurus SHO, but the ride wasn't that great and the wife immediately appropriated it for her own use so I rarely got to drive it. And so on with about 45 others. Favorite motorcycle would be easier. I suppose I have to go with my 73 F150 regular cab long bed with the insulated topper. 3 on the tree, 360ci engine with ported and polished 390 GTA heads and Ford optional cam, Holley 4 barrel on an Offenhauser manifold and Hooker headers. Cragar SS mags with the biggest tires that would fit. Rubber floor, vinyl seats, vent windows, manual crank windows. Monroe 500 shocks all around. I could go anywhere anytime, sleep in the back on the full size mattress, and out run any other pickup on the road at the time. My current ride, a 2013 Ram regular cab short bed with the V6 is a close second. $19,600 new and absolutely trouble free. Rides like a 60's Cadillac, very quick for the engine size because of the 8-speed auto. All red with matching topper.

I drove one once, belonged to a co-worker. I thought it was just too big, and I took my driving test in my brother's 66 Oldsmobile Starfire, which wouldn't fit between the parking cones. That would have been my favorite car if I had owned it.

My first very own belonged to me was a 1979 Ford f150. I put three transmission in that truck and the engine went with less than 100000 miles. You also had to keep a spare ignition switch and blue control module in the tool box. Next ford truck was 1995 f150 4x4 with a 300 six also put a engine in that one. I now drive GM products as they are cheaper to fix. My favorite was a 2002 Suburban great stereo, excellent seats and rode like cloud.

Never had the issues you had, but I did have to carry a spare computer module and I changed it on the side of the road many times. I was thinking that it had break problems, but that was the Ford dealership that forgot to close the bleed valves after a brake job.

I have been driving a Toyota Land Cruiser bought new in 1987 for 32 years so I guess that is my real favorite. Spends almost all of its miles on dirt roads, very little highway driving and then seldom over 45 MPH. Geared low- 4.56 ratio, overdrive, 32 inch diameter tires.

Those old Range Rovers were sweet. I remember when they came out in the early 1970s with the aluminum Buick engine. Good V-8 power and light weight if you could just keep them cool enough.

That 215ci Buick V8 was a nightmare in Buick cars before they sold it to Rover. I couldn't believe that they actually got money for one of the worst American engines ever made. Every time the heads came off, the head bolt threads came with them. And they always overheated. I also had a Buick GS 350 4 barrel that was very fast, but couldn't get across town on gallon of water.

My favorite is my current ride. A 2016 Ram 1500 4X4 crew cab. This is my baby and a fun truck to drive with plenty of power with the 5.7 Hemi. My next favorite was my 95 Ram 2500.
