I'm not sure what made it so good, but I just had the best cup of coffee I've had in a long time. I have found that the one most powerful thing that accentuates the flavor and enjoyment of coffee is: ....drum roll... Needing a cup of coffee real bad. That^^^has to be one of life's true-isms.

I was overdue for a cup, and then I had 3 more, none as good as the first. How is that Cramptholomew? I've been on the fence of ordering a tin. Watch City Rhythm and Blues in a Briar Spirit. Possibly the last pipe of the night.

Not too sweet, Kentucky is noticeable, but not over powering. The Virginia is more on the potent spectrum, sweet with some hay. I have to smoke more, but I think it's going to be a good one to have around.

Most of the "reviews" I've read have said about the same thing. Va/kentucky/perique is right up my alley... that's exactly what "my blend" is. I guess I'll need to pick up a tin or 2 one of these days.
I like strong ones and love the burn of shag cuts lately.

Rattrays Dark Fragrant in a Savinelli Bings Favorite. I've been eyeing that for awhile. What's your take on it? It is a black Cavendish but not like what I normally think of when I smoke a topped BC. The perique is in such a quantity so to make it interesting without being overpowering. To my taste it is simply a good light slightly sweet smoke with a spicy edge. Pretty good stuff.

Yesterday, as I was walking out to my garage, pipe in hand, my daughter asked, "Is it stinky time?" Then I loaded my pipe with Tuskegee Airman from C&D. I rarely smoke blends with latakia, since I don't like the taste. When I came back into the house, my daughter said, "WOW! YOU REALLY ARE STINKY!"

Good luck on that, Josh...usually they are helpful...don't mean they won't screw it up, though. Had a bowl of blackberry brandy with some Dark Plug sifted in the CG cob that Ken stained green....got a lot of nice compliments when we went to the flea market. Guy was selling knives...had a very nice Damascus with a double stitched sheath for only $25.00 good blade, I need more knives like I need another pipe. Probably would have gotten it, if the wife wasn't standing over me at the time breathing down my neck...she woke up unhappy about something.

Wolfman I'm not too crazy about it. Ken sent me some a while back and that's what I'm still smoking. It's not a bad blend, but I wont be ordering more of it. I'm sure that age would make it better. But again, it's not bad by any means. I prefer Louisiana Red and Anni Kake. P&C said they should be able to change the shipping address. If not, my box of St. James Flake gets shipped to Walt and I go pick it up.
