<50g is where it's at. If you CAN'T do ~20g, shoot for ~50g. I've ALWAYS lost weight at that range.

Eliminate all refined sugar intake and you will no longer be type 2 diabetics, been there, did it. Went from 435 reading to 74 in 6 months. Good job, Marty!

Congratulations, Don. It is good to read a success story like that. While I never been a big consumer of processed sugars, I find that so-called keto diet is less effective now for weight loss.
Last year at this time I was a on diet of 400 to 700 calories per day. Very low carb/sugar. After five weeks I lost zero pounds.
For a year I have been trying to get under 300 pounds without success. I am still on it, sinner that I am.
Increase your calories to about 2000 a day, eat 70% fat 25% protein and keep your carbs under 20 g a day. Do it for a no-bull$hit month and see what happens. I spent five weeks just about one year ago, 400 to 700 calories per day and low carb. Scrupulous counting as I was very sick. Sadly, I did not loose one pound. There must be more to weight loss than jut that. Perhaps because I was sick my metabolism was affected?

Everyone is different I have tired just about every diet there is. Oh sure the first thirty pounds fall off then you hit a brick wall. Your body says ok store mode even it starves the body, And being skinny has very little to do with health the skinny ones die just as fast as the fat ones. Activity is the real key you got to keep moving years ago I lived in a mobile home park full of older folks and the ones who walked lived the ones that didn't died.

Activity is the real key you got to keep moving years ago I lived in a mobile home park full of older folks and the ones who walked lived the ones that didn't died. The big fat people I know who tried the Keto diets (including me) were only able to loose about 25 to 30 pounds. Then nothing more happens with weight loss. 25 to 30 pounds helps but these are people who told to loose 50, 80, 100 pounds. The keto diet does not help long term. So, they have to find another approach. Weight comes back. To me, the low carb diet on its own is not sustainable for large weight loss. I do not know the answer but I suspect it is counting calories for ever and at a very low number like 500 calories per day. Years of hunger, feelings of deprivation, depression, fatness. Oh, the humanity!!! So, fug it. Common sense says no more milkshakes, skip the fries, those holiday mashed potatoes, gravy, dressings for turkeys, sweet potato casseroles, foh-get about it, boy. There is a lettuce leaf with your name on it and that is all you get.

I have seen a lot of guys like Jim, lose a bunch of weight doing a low carb diet and then keep it off. I lost my 20lbs pretty fast and have not lost any more weight, but I don't have much to lose, really. Maybe another ten lbs. I need to increase my cardio with more walkng or biking, to be honest. My main reason was to see if my digestion would be improved, and it has. A regular and consistent BM is glorious. Yes, I said it. A good shite can be glorious.

That is what I have seen. 20 to 30 pounds lost. Then ones has to say on the Keto plan for good. I can cut down on carbs but find it too hard to eliminate them all together. Certainly invreased cardio is essential. That is hard for me owing to my knee, I walk with a cane, but I can try to walk more.
