A Pipe Smokers Wife
There once was an old man who smoked a pipe, And his wife would stand there and gripe and gripe, She said the smoke was killing her lungs, And everyday she would sing those same songs, So the old man stopped smoking to make her glad, He smoked his last pipe then died very sad, But she continued to caugh and to hack, Then prayed to the Lord to bring her man back, But the good Lord told her, it was too late, He’s up here with me smoking pipes feeling great, So the old women died and went down to hell, And even down there, his pipe smoke could smell, The moral of this poem is what it is, That wives should leave husbands to their own biss, And let them have their pipe smoking hobby, Or wives will wait there in hells smoky lobby.

In Favor Of Tobacco
Much victuals serves for gluttony To fatten men as swine; But he’s a frugal man indeed That with a leaf can dine, And needs no napkin for his hands, His fingers’ends To wipe, But keeps his kitchen in a box, And roast meat in his pipe.

To My Meerscaum.
There’s a charm in the sun-created hills, In the quivering light of a star, In the flash of a silvery rill, Yet to me thou art lovelier far My Meershaum! There’s a love in her witching dark eyes, There’s a love in her tresses at play, Yet love her would be worth not a sigh’ If from thee she could lure me away, My Meershaum! Let reverllers sing of their wine, As they toss it in ecstasy down, But the bowl I call for is thine, With its deepening amber and brown, My Meershaum! For when trouble would bid me despair, I call for a flagon of beer, And puff a defiance to care, Till sorrows in smoke disappear, My Meershaum! Though mid pleasures unnumbered I whirl, Though I traverse the billowy sea, Yet the waving and beautiful curl, Of thy smoke’s ever dearer to me, My Meershaum!

I Love My Pipe
I love I love my briar pipe, Tis warm to touch with swirled smoke, Doth greet me well in dawn of light, A true companion through the night, Until again the morning broke, Awake and egear to be lit, And I all night dreaming of it.

Nice poetry Wizard and thanks for the tip on the book. I’ll have to round out the order with some tobacco to get the free shipping!
I believe poetry to be the highest form of literature. No wasted words, cutting to the chase with precise and inspired language.

There once was a Luciferous sage, Who from a book had read every page, He exclaimed now I see, No ones smarter than me, As they fed him through bars in his cage.
I wrote this lymric 20 years ago, & it still loops around in my head.🧙🏼♂️

I’m just having too much fun tonight Friday the 13th. Sitting here in front of my pipe area, and enjoying my pipes and tobaccos. Writing some poetry and smoking my churchwarden. Hope you have a good evening all.🧙🏼♂️

The Old Wizard
The rhyme scheme is: ABCDEFGH-HGFEDCBA
The old wizard took hold of his churchwarden, Like an old friend one looks forward to greet, Then filled the briar bowl with black baccy, Smoke swirled around is head like blue mists, Creating patterns of letters as he puffed, Smoke rings and smoke letters forming words, A prayer in Latin for a magic spell, Turning those he turned to frogs, back to men, Those men ran, never to come back again, And to no one could they speak of this, nor tell, We’re demons chasing them with drawn swords, Then becoming weary, took to sitting they huffed, They caught their breaths releasing clenching fists, Then rested in a far away Kentucky, At the corner of a crossroad street, Then left there with his blessing and his pardon.

Wizzing Wizards
A wizard am I and a jolly good soul, With a wizard friend, we pair to the goal, We wizz up trouble and we wizz until dawn , We wizz off the back porch, and we wizz on the lawn, We wizz and we wizz from the morning to night, We wizz up a spell and we wizz left and right, We’er wizzing wizards, and that’s what we do, We’ll wizz on everything, and we might wizz on you.
KW ______________________ Nightwatch
I’m Captain Earl on my Nightwatch tonight, Come and smoke a pipe bowl with me, We’ll dance neath the stars with a swash bucklers right, And smoke some of my favorite baccy, Oh Nightwatch to me you are like a good friend, The full moon up there, down here can’t ever end, At night I huff and I puff and I puff, I’m Captain Earl on my Nightwatch with pipe stuff.

I wrote these 2 poems the other day. I hope you enjoy them.🧙🏼♂️
