Tonight, we had dinner at Mustachio's on the south shore of Lake Granby. Very quaint little Italian place with excellent fare. This is the view from out back. How fine! Do they have a sailboat rental?

The marina next to the restaurant rents pontoon boats, fishing boats and water skiing boats. The marina up the lake rents kayaks. We rented three tandem kayaks and just got back from two hours of kayaking on Lake Granby. Probably covered 3-4 miles.

Took a hike to Adam's Falls above Grand Lake, before the kayaking.

Rented an AirBnB in Grand Lake, Colorado. This view is off the back deck. It is a lot prettier in person. Spending a week here with family. North end of Rocky Mountain National Park, beautiful! I camped in the southernmost campground near Estes Park when I was there!

Went petrified wood hunting over east of Kremmling, CO today. Looking out over the terrain where we found agate, jasper, chert and petrified wood. Picture forthcoming tomorrow, when I have some daylight to take some shots of the rocks. We stopped in Granby tonight on the way back to our rental. Bought cocktails and some appetizers. As we were wrapping up, our waitress came over and told us we were good. An elderly gentleman sitting near us payed our whole tab and snuck off before we knew what had happened. She said he is a retired rancher who comes in a couple of times a week to watch people and say hi. He foots someone's bill without them knowing it. What a sweet guy. Truly amazing. Our bill was $75. Our waitress got a huge tip.

Awesome Don and great pics. It would be VERY hard for me to leave a place like that. There's nothing like making beautiful memories with the family.
Petrified wood is awesome. I had a few chunks that my grandmother got me from CO one year. I have no idea what happened to them, but they've been gone for 20 years now. The things nature does are absolutely amazing.

That's an amazing thing the rancher did. Couldn't have happened to a better guy though.

Vacation over. Back home and scheduled to work tonight. Back to the grind. I do have a 5 day vacation in a couple of weeks, though.

Do you incorporate the petrified wood into building projects (patio, walkway accents, etc.) or is it just for display?

Be nice if that rancher practiced his random kindness at smoke shops.
