JMHO but the price alone would be a deal killer for me. I don't have any left in my collection with a gap between the stem and shank that is visible to my aging eyes.

No, that pipe should NOT have that gap andor the condition that pipe is in it is WAY overpriced. I am not a BC brand expert but for the condition it is in and from what I remember that style selling for I would not pay more than $50 max.

That gap is an easy fix, it's tenon probably just a bit swollen or it could be the mortise just needs a good cleaning out. You'll see a lot of estate pipes that have the same problem and most of just need a good cleaning. The price on these pipes varies, I've seen them go for $150 in excellent condition and as low as about $65 in good condition. I don't think the price is out of the ball park for that pipe but, seeing the stem won't seat I think it's too high.

Doesn't look right. The stem should fit snug without a gap.If I could offer a suggestion. Before buying a pipe on E-bay be sure of the pipe's condition and if possible check the price of a new one.

yeah, the price seems ridiculous considering that they state up front that the buyer will have to restore it and sanitize it. if it was ready to smoke as is i don't think it would be a terrible price, but not as it is now. I do like the shape, etc. The seller was trying to say it was normal for the space to be there, and I think I saw a brand new pipe not too long ago that did have an intentional space, but I don't really like that.
