I’m pretty klutzy, so I always walk with a cob. I can easily imagine myself shattering a meerschaum in the middle of the street.
Any brave souls who lunt with expensive pipes?

Any of them. My LHS Caboose is a little unwieldy for a walk, so that pretty much the exception.

I don't go out all that much...as of late I've been enjoying my new Rhodesian and I am really proud of this beauty, so if I do go out, most likely this will clutched tightly in my hand.

Ill take whatever pipe I want, and careful not to drop. I went on a backpacking trip here recently and took a cob , however. Was too scared to bring a nice one. There was about 24 hrs of rain in the forecast.

I love to be outside. Hot , cold, in the middle, rain, snow. As long as its dry , a pipe most of all the time makes that a more enjoyable experience for me. I love to pack some good smoke and take my dog on one of many trails around the area. They're are some great short trails up by Pistol Pete's place with waterfalls i love to lunt at.

Why does Lunting sound like something originating from the Ministry of Silly Walks?

If I'm walking with a pipe, it's usually my Devil Anse by Moonshine pipes. However, I spend more time "lunting" from the back of a horse. Again, usually the Devil Anse, but the new Joe Case is the perfect size for either, and will likely see a lot of miles too now.

I don't either; just don't enjoy it. I like to sit and relax with a pipe.

Any of them, just depends on what I feel like smoking. Cobs, meers, artisans, or factory. They're just pipes.

I take whatever pipe I feel like smoking that day. I haven't dropped one in over 50 years. A friend dropped a pre-trans Barling into the Hudson River tho'. I sank like a stone.

Most of my smokes are while walking the dog as well. I'll take any pipe that clenches well, which is most of mine since I like light pipes that are at least partial bents. The absolute best is probably a Savinelli 677ks. It's a rusticated quarter bent apple, super light, smokes great, and is a smaller bowl - just right for a 20 minute walk with a little lingering out in the yard to finish the smoke if it's a nice night.

I drop my phone all the time, but have never dropped a pipe. That being said, I normally only take cobs or cheap briars out as I am scared of breaking or losing something expensive. One pipe that I did used to take out a lot only cost me twenty bucks on eBay, but is one of my favorites. I lost it for a period of two days and found it under the most unusual circumstances. I realized it was missing out of my pocket at work. I searched the work van and even went back to the customers house and checked around the outdoor unit. Found it two days later. It was in the middle of my grandmother's yard. I just happened to glance over when I got out of my car. It had been raining heavy all day, but the pipe was completely dry. Granny agreed that I had not walked through the yard. Never could explain it, but ever since then I have been wary of taking out anything I would be too upset to lose or break.
