Sorry, but I have to go on about Father Boedekker and Thanksgiving. Here he is in the Kitchen of St. Anthony's Dining Hall on Thanksgiving. Clearly, a publicity still. He was very effective raising support. He was so genuine, everyone had to kick in.

A restaurant here in my neighborhood serves free turkey dinners to seniors on Thanksgiving Day. Now, there is a kindness. I remember St. Anthony's Dining Hall in San Francisco and Father Alfred Boedbekker every Thanksgiving. He fed everyone. It became a privilege to volunteer in their kitchen on Thanksgiving. Everyone loved Father Alfred. You see, he was the real deal. That is the way San Francisco used to be. I doubt if it is like that now. Having lived in the Bay Area for 25 years, yes they did the LORDS work there, and he left quite a legacy....I hope it is like that now, but I have my doubts.
