As most of you know I stay away threads like this. But this morning I had an appointment with a Urologist, while he was talking this thread came to mind. The reason is that the PSA went from 4.4 to 7.6 in 6 months months. He suspects there might be cancer in the prostrate. What a hellva piece of info to get when your 68th is around the corner. So the old saying is true "lifes a bitch then we die and sometimes we get to eat one". I hope he told you its the slowest growing cancer in the world. Don't worry, you'll be okay, I'm sure god bless

Best of luck with your surgery. Which part of Arkansas? Right now the whole state is open to me. I am going there mostly for legal and hunting reasons. I am taking advice from all kinds of real estate agents, I realise most of em have business mostly in mind, but still, they're giving me a lot of good info.

Keep us posted on how everything works out for you. Thank you brother Is that you in the photo? Yep, back in my glory days, as that photo was taken while I played in an Elvis Impersonator band, about 2500 people in the place. Fire Marshall had to stop people from coming in, women fighting over scarves he threw out, just crazy how excited people became over Elvis. It was also the highest paying gig I ever did.

I could never wear a suit like that. It would take all of ten seconds for it to be ruined for some reason. I have to keep to my tweed jackets with arm patches. You're looking fly though!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am back from my Transurethral Radical Prostatectomy (TURP). For those who have had this done before, or know anything about it, this is where they take the prostate out down to the capsule from inside the urethra (where your urine flows out). They said that I was going to have to stay for up to 2-3 days but I was able to leave after just 1 day. My breathing and heart rate and everything was good, so they said, adios amigo! Lucky me! I am still cathed and in a lot of pain. I tried to smoke when I got home (another thing I was told tnot to do), but because of the trach, it was uncomfortable, so I am chewing. Jason sent me this wonderful little pipe, as you can see below:
(Click for full size photo) I am not sure the photo does it justice. I also got 4-5 other blends from him, one of which he blended himself. I look forward to smoking all of them, and trying this pipe, as soon as this sore throat clears up from the breathing tube they put in me for my operation. Anyway, I am doing as well as I can be. I am in quite a bit of pain but I have plenty of meds for that. Roadsdiverged has also been wonderful. He sent me some of that voodoo queen and like 4-5 other tobaccos.. I cant tell you how much I love the VQ. I will be sending all of you something great in the near future. Take care patchers and thanks for caring about me so much. Merry Christmas UPS

Hey patchers,
I just wanted to say that I am doing a bit better now after my surgeries. I had told some of you that it was partially unsuccessful- well I may have jumped the gun on that a bit. I did not have to self-catheterise myself today, so I am doing better, for sure. I still have 3 more surgeries to go, but I am on my way. Today I was enjoying some of the mellow peach pipe tobacco that roadsdiverged sent to me. Very mellow stuff indeed - good for those trying to avoid nicotine for a bit. But I am home now, and its time to take out the nightcap! ;-) I hope everyone is enjoying advent, the holidays, and all of the sacred mysteries of the season. Be well, and stay healthy!

I hope you have time and space to enjoy them. Take care of yourself. I have about a year's worth of surgery and business to care for around Washington DC and Pittsburgh, PA before I head down to Arkansas, but thank you. I will go down there eventually though - I absolutely love the South, and for many reasons, Arkansas is a good fit for me. Financially, legally, spiritually, many reasons. I hope you are doing well as well up there in Ireland. You can see how busy my life is here in America, I don't know when or if I'll ever "make it home", but Donegal will always be there waiting for me. If I don't make it home in this life time, well I will in the next. ;-) God bless, UPS

We will always be here for you, UPS.....and so will He. Thank you, Walt, Brother. Same to you. I am now forced to return to Pennsylvania for care at UPMC Hospital. Arkansas is still in my plans, but it will be awhile. I hate going up to Pennsylvania in the middle of winter, but I will do what I have to do.

We have some great pipe smokers in the Pittsburgh area on this forum, I hope that you can reach out to them and share a smoke at their gatherings.
Best wishes on treatment and success!
