I am no longer able to smoke pipes and would like to dispose of or re-distribute (depending on your philosophical bent) what little i have of a pipe collection.

I’m sorry to hear that you must give up pipe smoking as I believe it is good for one’s general outlook. I hope you find an adequate alternative to soothe your soul!
As for the pipes, what sort of help do you need? Personally, I’ve more than I can smoke (PAD however remains an issue).

I know one feller who quit just because of health insurance....
have you thought about smoking non-tobaccos? I know another feller who swears by smoking herbals (no Im not talking about marijuana)

The only way to assess what your best move is to know What Have You Got? Loved high grade's? Crisp mid grades? You could have one pipe that makes the lot. I've seen boxes of pipe treasures assessed and most of the time the prospective seller walks away disappointed but there's always the chance of a jackpot.  |

He has great taste! Danish Freehands, a Stanwell Twin Stem, an Edward’s churchwarden (!), three figural Meers and more! Most intriguing is a sextet of very handsome looking freehands by contemporary American carver “Mark Tompkins”, whose work I am not familiar with and who is not mentioned on Pipedia. I’ve gotten in touch with Mark Tompkins! He’s a full time IT engineer in the healthcare sector, but carves pipes as a hobby. He is clearly a very talented maker. I’ve sent him photos of AllenJay’s sextet and we plan on speaking to eachother by phone this weekend!  |

Whoa! Those are beautiful. Especially the 2nd from the bottom! My favourite is the smaller one on top. The one you mention needs the most attention as the stem has been over-buffed and needs replacing. |
