I just realized I haven’t had a pipe today. It’s time to correct that:
Listing this early: ‘Telegraph Hill Goes Astray’ in a sandblasted Urbino bent apple with an acrylic stem.
I’ve always wondered what Telegraph Hill with Burley would be like. So I added about 15-20 percent of C&D Dark Fired Kentucky to Telegraph Hill (‘05). I pressed it for a week, then let it sit for a few more days.

Telegraph Hill Goes Astray went terrifically astray. The Kentucky overwhelmed everything. After five minutes of frustration, I dumped the contents and was ready to give up. Then, i realized I have nothing to lose by trying again. I mixed another batch with an adjusted percentage (decreased) of Kentucky. It’s now in the press where it shall stay for the time being.
I ended up smoking a bowl of Amphora Burley in the same Urbino.

Amphora Bur/Va in the Stanwell Legend 64. I was jarring up some recent acquisitions and decided to combine a pouch each of Amphora’s new Burley and Virginia blends for a lovely House Burley & Bright!

@kramerica That sounds like a great idea. I’m going to have to try that. Did you split the Virginia and burley 50/50 ?
Earlier . . . Cap’n Cook’s Redemption . . .Now. . . I just finished a bowl of Amphora Brown/D&R Two Timer mix in a Savinelli Chiara prince with an acrylic stem

I really enjoy both on their own; they’re definitely not ‘one note’ or boring nor do they bite. It was just with the idea, a whim really, of creating a non-aromatic House Burley & Bright. They’re both cut pretty similarly, but it took some extra stirring and shaking for the burley to integrate with the bright. Once it looked uniformly brown I jarred it and shook it some more. The bowl took a few relights, but the HB&B found that fragrant easy moving sidewalk about halfway down and lasted me a good long time. These Amphora blends are really s’blended! (Pun alert)

A pinch of Americana in the pipe that Jason made for me. Thanks buddy - I'll likely smoke this for the rest of my life, which well, I hate to be fatalistic, but I don't have many years left on me. These old capacitors are old and worn down. Listening to Muddy Waters - Champagne and Reefer

spent yesterday with Troost match in various cobs, I find the blend to be a wonderful all day aromatic. It has just enough sweetness to satisfy the sweet tooth when thats what you need but not too sweet that you need a trip to the dentist afterwards to get all of your teeth filled.

The Carter Hall was sharp and bitter for some reason this morning. Finished about 1/2 bowl, and dumped it out. Kept the Devil Anse, switched back to "Old Dad" tobacco, much better.

I've been missing my smoke posts due to life changes and a busy schedule.
So for my last 20 smokes it's been "a Virginia, in a pipe."
But I'm going to change it up a bit with GH Cherry Cream Flake in one of my Lakeland cobs

Brilliantly pungent Diamond Head in the Mark Tompkins I’ve been thinking of as “Sherlock Horn”. The wife loves the jar and room notes of this Balkan symphony. There is definitely an orchestral palette to the effects on the sensorium brought about by this blend. 95/100 starz
Mark has agreed to carve me a seventh for a seven day set and build a box for them. The Thunem Sextet will be the Kramer Septet! I’m very excited!
Apologies to Jason, who I offered one of the Morgan’s, but I have decided to keep them all. He’s a great maker and a very nice man!
PostImage.org is down right now, but when they’re back up I will post a picture of Mark’s latest circle of finished pipes.

Dunhill Early Morning Pipe in a Peterson Shannon 150 bulldog with a vulcanite stem. I finally made the switch from Bic lighters to Clipper lighters. They're refillable. How cool is that? Dumbo Octopus.

Yeh brother I have been mostly just smoking whatever English tobaccos I have, 4-5 pipes a day, for the last two weeks. Mostly just mentally preparing myself for moving on. I mean I have lived in like 20 cities in the last 20 years, but that has been my life for the last 5 decades or so, so whatever. I have never really settled anywhere for any length of time - and I am not sure I ever could. But I have been so busy with that I just can't be updating all my smokes on here. But I will be shortly when I switch caves again. I hope you are doing well and good luck with everything. Its always a mes, but it sounds like you are coping well. Take care buddy.
