Does yours have removable platens? Mine doesn’t and I don’t want to get the electrics wet. Gonna try a toothbrush. Nothing removable. I do not immerse it in water, just prop it up so the water runs across the grill surface one side at a time. I scrub with a sponge. It is sealed well enough. Has to be for UL certification. Also, I unplug it while washing because I smart!! If it gets wet inside, it will like drain and if it shorts then, gee, I will have to buy another. Did it your way last time. Worked OK. But removable platens would be most welcome. Meanwhile...

Some excellent smoked salmon bits mixed with cream cheese and raw onion and spread on my home made bread. What a luxury!!!
+6 degrees (F) outside, what misery! No, it is cold but sunny and calm winds. Soon, outside to feed animals and try and provide drinking water.

Splurged due to almost 200-pounds of ground venison, elk, and moose in the freezers.

It's not the BEST way to cook a steak, but for the convenience it is very good.

I never cared for the Foreman grill, we had I think 3 different sizes, and they all went off to the Salvation Army.
It is a great product, I just found myself not using it, and cleaning a pan easier.

I would never do a steak on one. But for ground meat it is excellent and so convenient. Thin steaks cook fine in one. I would not try a thicker cut. Ditto boneless chops, chicken filets, fish sticks, chicken tenders, wursts, tofu, grilled cheese sandwiches.

Clearly, removable and washable platens or grates are an improvement. I will use my original until it dies or George sends me a new one.

Picked up Mexico City tacos and carne asada enchiladas from our favorite local Mexican eatery, Moctezuma's in Tacoma. Dinner will be some sort of vegetable in order to make up for it.

Mesquite-smoked turkey breast and sharp cheddar on buttered whole wheat. Quite good. I’ll be making more of these, with suitable variations. Thanks! )

Ditto boneless chops, chicken filets, fish sticks, chicken tenders, wursts, tofu, grilled cheese sandwiches. We only use it for snack steaks and chops. And the occasional burger. Actually, I've never used it. It's the wife's. 😜🤠

Last night when I made my panini in George’s grill I discovered that I had screwed up on my last supply run and left butter off the list. (If it ain’t on The List it don’t get bought!) No butter. Egad! But I usually have some kind of reserve and in one of the niches of the fridge I found a tub of Land O’ Lakes butter + olive oil + sea salt. (Gee, I thought ALL salt was sea salt...) This made an excellent spread for the grill side of my bread. Worked a treat and something I may keep on hand for panini in the future. Just a FYI for those who might find it useful and didn’t know about it.

Just a FYI for those who might find it useful and didn’t know about it. We have 2 Proctor Silex sandwich grills that are fantastic for grilled cheese and panini. It'll make 2 grilled cheese or one panini and wipes clean with a paper towel. And if you don't have butter, you are screwed. 😉 We keep salted and unsalted butter, ghee, and soft margarine just in case.

I know what they are and were all the rage some eyars ago. It just did not make it to northern NM. Too many tacos and burritos I guess? There are a couple of taco stands that make the Torta Cubana, does that count, I wonder?
