A pot of Yorkshire Red Label Tea. The loose-leaf. No more of those annoying little sacks for me. Tinned milk and turbinado sugar. Perfect! Two nice slices of bread I baked last night are in the toaster. To be spread with Cream Cheese and topped with rough-cut English marmalade. Snob! 🙄🙃

Ron it is painful to read this...we haven't gone to get groceries yet since coming back from Miami...tomorrow is the day and I finally can eat what I want instead of eating what is left in the cupboard.

Walt Roxsie had cure 81 ham, I think I might have spoiled my dog. Yeah, it is easy when you love them...mine usually gets first cut and I get what is left over...sigh. I'm a fool for critters, especially disabled ones.

If, I am really jealous...I got the hat, the shirt and the memories...boy would I love some Rudys BBQ right now. Rudy's is a chain with little stores all over East Texas. The food is really some of the best available brisket. The original might be in San Antonio.

I cant find any hatch chili's around frozen or otherwise. Yes Rudy's in SA and Salt Lick is Austin really it is all in the sauce. If you put Rudy's sauce on a rock it would then be edible and the Wussie Sauce has no heat and not as good. Best BBQ in Tejas is Coopers the best woods mesquite and seasoned gray live oak and no one does a better pork chop. You don't need sauce at Coopers and they have cabrito and how can one be Tejas BBQ unless they have cabrito. Without the humble little goat the whole state would run over with bresh or büsche.

Walks & WAYS done. Next up, Schwan #662 two toaster waffles, one cycle. Usual adds & nuke to plateful of mess. Add k-cup cocoa & all to smoking room, eat & continue with the papers. At my age, IMO routines are better, realizing too much thinking is dangerous!

While I was in town yesterday, Sunday, Albertson's Green Meat Section was filled with lamb loin chops deeply discounted. So, I brought home a dozen. Normally, I do not buy them because of the high price. This was the first time I have seen them on sale.
Charcoal Grill, I am thinking. Hickory wood. Hope to have a photo.

This morning's protein was the last of the charcoal grilled trout and a grilled elk bratwurst. Good eating of local foods.

I love cabrito, but it's hard to find. The best I have had was at the Ranch Cafe in Nuevo Laredo in 69. I wouldn't know where to go these days.

You are not likely to either this time of year, the best you can do is get dehydrated Hatch Chiles and reconstitute them. About September, I buy a 40 pound bag and have them roasted in the tumbler basket at the Mexican market, buy a bunch if Ziploc sandwich and gallon size bags, four sandwich bags to the gallon bag and off to the freezer. When I pull them out and thaw, rinsing them under the cold faucet, the skins slide off. Edit: HEB says they have canned Hatch. www.heb.com/search/?q=hatch

Canned Hatch chilies aren't terrible, if that's all you can get.
About to have Red Baron pizza and birthday cake.
