You are not likely to either this time of year, the best you can do is get dehydrated Hatch Chiles and reconstitute them. About September, I buy a 40 pound bag and have them roasted in the tumbler basket at the Mexican market, buy a bunch if Ziploc sandwich and gallon size bags, four sandwich bags to the gallon bag and off to the freezer. When I pull them out and thaw, rinsing them under the cold faucet, the skins slide off. Edit: HEB says they have canned Hatch. www.heb.com/search/?q=hatchYou should be able to get them frozen which is better than canned. Canned are good, too.

Canned Hatch chilies aren't terrible, if that's all you can get. About to have Red Baron pizza and birthday cake. Thanks, I have never tried the canned.

Pollo Loco Chicken and beans. Also a couple of their new "keto" tacos. Really good but a lot of calories.

I assume that Hatch chilies are hot? When they come on season, I can order from the Mexican purveyors, Medium, Mild, hot, x-tra hot. My dream is someday to pair up with someone that will roast a bag of mild, I roast a bag of x-tra hot... they balance each other, and you are not eating sweet peppers or flaming hot ones... they counterbalance each other that is a gastronomic delight.

Hatch is not hot just tasty and best of all the heat level is consistent. Cold boiled shrimp with cocktail sauce for lunch.

Thanks Well, it's a chain, and it's Mexican style with the sides and street tacos, etc. The main attraction is that they grill the chicken that's been marinated of a open fire. The chicken is so damned good.

The chain, Pollo Loco, does an excellent job. Their sides are good quality and they used to have a salsa bar offering many types of salsa. Man, it was Heaven.

So, I grilled 16 Loin Lamb Chops, a small rack of beef ribs, and a Chuck steak. They came out fine except a little overdone. You see, a neighbor came by at the critical moment with firewood to sell. I had to shut down the Weber Grill and attend to his business. When someone here has firewood for sale, you buy unless you are an idiot. Firewood is NEVER available when you need it. It is bought when it appears. All year around. Probably the most important local business transaction there is. There is a ritual that must be observed.

In LA, PL had excellent smokey and sweet Black Beans as an alternative to Pintos. Not sure if they still do as I have not had the pleasure of visiting one of their store for 24 years, They show black beans on the menu, but I haven't tried them. I personally don't like black beans. My wife likes them. She started eating them 30 years ago when they used to go to lunch with her Cuban boss.

Scrambled 3 eggs and added that to shredded cheese and sourcream in a large tortilla. I took Shweetie to the airport this morning, she's going to a family wedding in Nashville, and will be gone a week. You should see the cases of frozen pizzas and cans of spaghettios she came lugging in here for me Saturday! She dont want the boy and I to starve while she's gone, I guess.

Sick all day with waves of nausea. Not sure why. I was fine yesterday. So, not much eating today. A half a slice of toast this morning. A cup of thin tomato soup for lunch, V-8 juice added to my own beef broth. Nothing else since.
