Happy New Year folks.
For those who are new to the forum and are opening this thread for the first time, this thread is where we simply chew the fat about whatever we're doing during the day - whether it's what we're smoking, drinking, reading, watching, who we're doing all that with...this is the place for that.
Special mention to David (Cosmicbobo) who is no longer with us on the forum for coming up with the idea.

I've been talking to some of the guys on the ham radio repeaters this morning, and trying to come up with different antenna ideas to be used at the condo that I am in so that the Condo Owners Association Nazis that are always snooping around trying to find infractions won't send me a nasty letter. going to try and swap things around on the back of my big Yamaha receiver today to try to troubleshoot why there are no low frequencies coming out of my speakers which acts like there is a low filter that has been engaged. It is either something bad in the receiver or the power management which allows the signals to come out of the Yamaha and go down to an outboard amplifier made by Adcom so I need to troubleshoot that to figure out whether it's the receiver or the amplifier. my wife has something in the crock pot which is more than likely a traditional New Year's Day meal which has something to do with pork and sauerkraut which I am okay with but the part that bothers me is knowing that she basically does whatever all the rest of the sheeple do. I do not like traditions at all where you repeat things over and over Century after Century just because people have done something before

Can’t get away from eating the black eye beans for good luck ,something my wife is very adamant about, Son who is living with us got called to hospital for a surgery call. Other son here will probably leave late today as they are expecting bad weather Thursday, Daughter and her family are in Hawaii. My Cousin who is dieing of throat cancer has made a small recovery and was texting me the last 2 days. That’s a small miracle he loves football and we’ve been hashing it out. So there it is, getting old has its benefits and a lot of aw 💩s

Overcast and 55 degrees in the swamp not a bad way to start the new year. Going to change out all the water filters today so I can remember when I did it last for next time. Daughter is down with the flu and is quickly growing tired of snow and cold weather on the Wasatch mountains. She is working on her masters degree this year. Momma is working from home the rest of the week so no affairs for me.

Might make up a pot of those together. I must search the freezer for something to go in the pot- an old ham bone, a shank, a hock, an old tired sausage. LOL!!!

Happy New Years to everyone. I am in the process for trying to pass a kidney stone. Not the best way to start the new year.

Happy New Years to everyone. I am in the process for trying to pass a kidney stone. Not the best way to start the new year. This will be a New Year's Eve and Day you will remember for a long time. Down the road you will compare future events to this day and be grateful! BTW, our little hospital in the Town of Taos has a machine which will help break up an even dissolve those kidney stones. I believe it is ultrasound.

The highlight of my day, other than a good smoke or two, or three will be going out to shoot some white rock with my sister-in-law’s boy friend. They are here from Toronto, so that is a treat. 12, 16, and 20 gauge. An old Remington semi-auto 12, a brand new Escort 12 pump, a Browning Sweet 16, and a BPS 20. Should be fun.

Son brought his thermal imaging scope he has mounted on his Vodoo 22, the whole rig cost about 4000$, I was afraid to touch it, he got his bartering skills from his mom and trading stuff only cost him about 1300$. He showed me the heat image from a handprint on the floor. A couple coyotes killed his little wiener dog, he climbed a tree at night and by morning he had killed a fox and 2 coyotes, they didn’t have a chance, No more trouble from critters now.

Happy New Years to everyone. I am in the process for trying to pass a kidney stone. Not the best way to start the new year. O.M.G.! I'd rather eat a handful of razor blades and wash them down with bleach ,than to face another kidney stone Threw up a few times ,after pee turned a lovely shade of pink, Bottom fell as my gut twisted around for a few days...tip-toed through some test ,and was being rolled down the hall to surgery when the Doc told me to dress and go home..".You must have passed it " he said, " how'd you like to go home?" HELL!!!, the dust was still spinning over my hospital parking space when I ran through the door at home! the thought of what they do to get a stone out turned me three shades of green! All the luck in the world to you sir; I'll send up a prayed for you!!!

Not a flame, I respect honesty...passing kidney stones is not for the faint of heart...I watched the wife, I wold not wish them on my enemy...unless it was Pol Pot, Stalin, Mao Tse Tung...etc...

Thick soupy fog on the cove after a night of rain. I do love this type of weather after spending half my years living in various deserts. Of course folks who spend their lives in fog love the deserts.

1000 hos, +8 degrees (F) with light snow falling.
-10 degrees before Dawn. So, another day with no ignition. Out of cat food. Last night, Fuzz Bomb woke me four times to remind me.
Cannot get a ride to town for cat food and my meds. The only person who is willing to help is an elderly lady who is afraid to drive in the snow and must be home before dark. The good news, temps are supposed to rise well above freezing this weekend, so the paraffin might return to a liquid state and the fuel flow, thus achieving ignition and lift off. Me, Dr. Robert Goddard and Dr. Werner Von Braun share in the same problem, sort of. Fortunately, I do not have to worry about over achieving and exploding in mid air. Just trying to keep a humorous slant in my situation.

How warm does it need to be for your truck to start? Electric heater under the truck? You can always eat the cats.

When the air temperature returns to the mid 20s or above freezing the paraffin should return to a liquid state and the truck start. I have thought about putting some heat under the plastic fuel tank's skid plate. I do not know if that will create new problems such as condensation in the fuel tank. Sometimes, better to just be patient. Tomorrow I might be able to get a ride to town.

I remember that in Jemez Springs the gasoline engines worked fine at -20F.

If the tins are still sealed, I'd keep them in the tins.

Spent 3 hours in the doctor's office today has my right foot is swollen up and infected, so I had to get blood work done. I have been also having trouble breathing lately so they did a chest x-ray and found out that the lower 1/3 of my right lung is not working. So now I have to go see a pulminologist to see if the nerve that is above the diaphragm muscle is not working. A1C is 11, so now they have to send the blood work off to see if my body has quit making insulin or not. worst case scenario is if my autoimmune disease and my muscle loss is working its way into the core of my body, instead of staying in the arms and legs area.

Wishing the best for you Marty.
For the first time in a long time, I'm at peace. I'm in a better place mentally and emotionally than I have ever been it.
It's just time to get the ball rolling and continue on my journey.
It feels good to feel this way for once.
