Two years before I retired the corporation forced all the old bosses out and brought in a lot of young guys with their lap tops and no experience.It took no time at all for things to get totally screwed up..None of their lap tops knew how to straighten thing out..They ended up calling some of those old experienced bosses back..As soon as I got my time in I got the heck out of there. Wouldn't it be nice if someday the folks at the top figured out that no amount of education can replace good old experience? I mean don't get me wrong, there is a place for a college degree. But my masters degree doesn't hold a candle the 30 years experience the CPA I had the pleasure to learn from had. And thats in the accounting world, where education does matter. |

In case anyone is going to the beach, the heat index was 117 in Galveston today and it's going to be hotter tomorrow. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 So THAT's where our heat went?  We've been in the high 90's to about 101 all weekend. Really nice change when we've been in the hundred teens for most of the summer. Sorry you caught it. |

Knowledge is a fine thing, but you can’t beat experience. My boss brought a MIT Engineer and said he is the crisis guy, call him when we have a big shakeup. It just so happened I was on when our Ethylene units compressor kicked off backing us up as we fed that unit. Flares going off, the engineer came in and said close the flare valve we can’t flare, I jumped to the board as he tried to close the valve, I told him I’ll break your fingers you close that valve, you’ll shut us down and we”ll really be in 💩. He ran to my boss, I don’t know what my boss told him, but I never saw him again. I helped solve the crisis by slowing weaning the feed that fueled the flares, it was hairy, touch and go, but Experience played a large part in this. I believe your brain can only absorb some knowledge too much and you have an overflow.!

Drove 200 miles to pick up my new-to-me saddle. Was very pleasantly surprised. Was in just as good a shape as depicted in the listing.
Properly cleaned, properly oiled and it fits me like it was made for me. This is a rest-of-my-lfe-then-pass-it-on-to-the-grandson saddle.
On the way home I stopped at the cigar shop to celebrate. Picked up a CAO MX2 to try, along with a Flathead 770 and a Kristoff Vengeance. Enjoying the Kristoff now. My shop guy knows my tastes, and recommended it. In fact, he gave it to me to try.
Smart man. Its a good stick.

Fixing my flip flops with 3m 08001 better known as gorilla snot. Yes I have other flip flops but the Sperry with black rubber sole is the best flip flop ever made. Well I have to take that back because Tiddies are the best but only if you are young enough not break your neck wearing them. Welp, we got a new small face as of tomorrow...a shelter Yorkie that needs a home...she is an older girl who was abandoned apparently, and has been at a foster home for a couple of weeks. Can't believe what humans sometimes do...if you don't want a dog, then don't get a dog...simple as that. Looking forward to the old gal tomorrow. This is our new sweet lil girl...her name is Alexis but we call her Lexxi...she is 12 years old and it seemed no one wanted an old dog...us being up in years we know that feeling of being unwanted...so here she is...4.8 #'s of pure love.   |
