2 words for today Kidney stones McG Had that....very familiar with the problem...might try drinking apple cider vinegar or if they are removed...start taking Magnesium tablets (250mg.) if your Dr. suggests it...I have been taking them for several years now and haven't had any re-occurrence of it... Dr. suggested the mag.

The Magnesium will do the trick. My urologist told me that if I take them every day or every other day, I will never have to go back to see him. Just finished running my generator as I do every week...like to keep it running and not get a surprise when I really do need it.

Just a mountain of a task to get set up with the VA McG I hear that! I don't call my DR unless I'm dying these days. By the time I can get in to see my PC at the VA I'll either be better or dead so why bother? (And for the record, my experience at the VA has been overall very good)

I've come to an unpleasant conclusion about the man in the mirror... HE is a grumpy, impatient and demanding old fart!!! I really need to learn some patience and start giving those around me a little slack...

I have an amazing wife...and family for that matter! So when I got my kidney stone, she took me to the ER at 3am, and was supposed to start her drive to TX due to the death of her Uncle the morning before(my birthday) Along with that, the evening before my stone issue her Mom, who lives with us, broke off 1/2 her tooth so had to go to the dentist...through it all my wife never once waivered in the face of all the chaos....Man I love that lady!
She is now a few hours away from seeing her family.....been in a car with her mom for 2 days when it is all said and done...one way......

Just returned from giving my old, old donkey a sliced apple. He comes to the gate every evening for it as he has for 20 years.
My old Buck goat, whom I bottled fed as Kid, shows up for a head scratch. No matter how much he stinks, he gets his scratch, long and hard.
Three old guys no one wants, convening in the twilight. I will sure miss them when they are gone if I am still around.

My old boy is called "Eddy" as in "Edgar R Burro. His companion here was "William S. Burro" but he died in 2005. Eddy is still kind of wild being a BLM rescue. I cannot do anything with him except feed him. However, he was earned his keep by standing post guarding the goats and sheep in all conditions. When we had a lion around, he would not move from the entrance to their corral and shed. Stood facing the mesa where the cat was day and night while the sheep and goats huddled inside. When kids and lambs were born in the snow by their inexperienced mama does and ewes, Eddy would holler something fierce until I came out to rescue the newborns. He has earned an apple or carrots every day as far as I am concerned. Donkey is one of the best animals God ever made.

Well, tomorrow is moving day. I worked packing and loading the trailer with boxes that wouldn't fit in the house. Checked the tongue weight and it was over 800lbs! I have a half ton truck with a 500lb weight limit on the hitch. So I have spent the morning unloading and repacking the trailer. Whew. Now I am trying to get all of the home entertainment center equipment out of the furniture. Cords everywhere. I told my wife that we'll be listening to TV speakers for a while.

I've done A LOT of moving and cannot say I envy you in this journey. Best wishes for the smoothest transition possible!

We had an old Donkey named "Smokey" (as in "On Top of Old …) and he was the best. However, "William S. Burro" takes the cake and, if I ever get the chance will certainly use that one!

I went to a local smoke shop to buy a couple cigars for the long weekend. The new associate (who has been there for about a year) couldn't pronounce things correctly. Infact she was almost trying to correct me. Lmfao. I just stood there and kept buying more and kept on correcting her audibly behind my mask. She didn't know what a perfecto was she just (enter your own words here). I will definitely be going to a much favored B&M. It's a day trip for me. But knowing the owner by name and how above and beyond he will go for me. Better experience all over.
My point is... i guess I don't have a point. Sorry.

Try it when you are 70 and it's 109 outside! Thing is, we've never downsized at all. Our first house had a big storage building and an attic. Our second house was bigger and had three storage buildings and an attic. This house is a little smaller and has two storage rooms and no attic. We've been walking around stuff for 15 years. We are going to be dumping a lot of crap very soon. I'm going to sell all of the 300+ vinyl and 300+ cds, turntable, etc., and donate about a hundred books to anyone who will take them. I am going to drink all 6 cases of booze and wine and sit on the couch staring into space and petting the dog!

After the 10th, or so, it gets much easier. LOL
Your final words are the best advice I could have given myself!

I feel for you Ron, my move to house we lived in for over 30 yrs was horrible, wife had the flu, I was sick, but carried on, I know you’ve done way more than me and at a much older age, but I know somewhat what you are going thru. It’s the small stuff that kills.
