Fine looking shed you have, Ronv69...you should be quite happy when you put the A/C in the window. A great place to smoke and work on your projects.
Watching Hurricane Sally soak the ground and creating storm surge that is only going to make the folks there miserable between mosquitoes and heat and humidity. We are on the edge and while we are packed to evacuate, doesn't seem to be in the cards for us to have to deal with it.

If you are on the dirty side Walt pack up the pooch and go for nice drive. Nope, this old man ain't going out of the house...got plenty of food and stocked supplies to the ceiling, and if the power goes off, got a generator to take care of all the stuff that needs to be running (computer, modem, refrig., A/C etc). Pooch loves laying on the bed watching movies through her eyelids!

Not worried about you Walt I am looking out for your dogs best interests as my dog gets pissed if she is missing her stories. Our happy girl is just thrilled to be in a family where she doesn't have to be restricted to living and sleeping in a crate...when she was being fostered that was her environment...now she has a life where I think she has opened up her personality is shows us her love and is happy to be sleeping next to my head at night...and I enjoy hearing her soft snoring and some times have to wake her up when I can tell she is having a bad dream...yes, she has dreams...all of our doggies had dreams...we could tell by her little murmurs when she was having a bad or uncomfortable time. We are dog people!

Waiting on both UPS and Fed Ex for deliveries THEY scheduled for today. The boxes are heavy (2 @ 60 pounds each)and I have the gate open so they can come to the front door. I hate it when they dump them at the foot of the driveway and I have to either hand truck them up the drive or drag them to the house. My legs are not reliable enough to carry much more of a load than they already have.
Also leaving them by the front gate invites thieves.
So, it is wait and wait and wait. Maybe they get here and maybe not. Neither company has been reliable.

Hilarious!
Fed Ex contract carrier van backs in front gate. Rear door opens, small young woman uses her legs to push the boxes out the back and drop onto the driveway bursting open. Off she goes! I have to carry the contents into the house one item at a time.
What a world we live in now!

Rather sad news tonight. I will be on the balcony enjoying a couple cigars and drinking way to much in his honour.

I feel your pain with FedEx...they leave the box or package sitting on the street under the mail box...good thing I live on a quiet street with not much traffic.

Their customer is Chewy.com, the pet food supplier. I complain to Chewy and they can pass it on to the company. UPS operates with Teamster Union members who know their job and are proud of what they do. I much prefer them as difficult as they can be sometimes.

Im in a pickle. This smoke from the wild fires has our air quality at red level warnings, but we still got farmers trying to get their harvest in.
I dont know whether to pray for rain to clear the air, or pray it holds off for the farmers!

Returned the turd Greenworks chainsaw that kept throwing the chain. Took the back road to Marshall and got the Stihl fixed in 5 minutes, and picked up a new water heater at Lowe's. The one we had was a short fat one that had moved over so there was no room for the washer and dryer. The drain valve came apart and water went everywhere. I got 2! hoses on it and got it drained. Tried to remove/replace the drain valve and it broke. New one has the inlet/outlet in different places and it is taller so I have to get stuff to cut and splice the PVC. Tomorrow.

Get a good one...got a type that had a ratchet arrangement in the handle...not worth a damn!!! Raining too hard to go to the shed and get the brand for you...maybe tomorrow I can get to it.

I have several good ones in the old garage. 😕 I just need it for one pipe. Thing is that it's old CPVC. It's just as likely to break as to cut. Maybe I'll try to cut it with a hacksaw slowly. Still need glue and a connector.

Started out today in Albuquerque, up to Las Vegas NM, to Roswell, and ended up in Carlsbad. On to Alamogordo and then ElPaso tomorrow, racking up the hours.
In Northern California next week, have to fly to Sacto on Sunday, that sucks.

I am just glad to have my truck and trailer back...and I am taking a coat this time. Great Picture, Good Memories! I hated switching machines. Even if it was the same model something always felt off.
I was lucky I thew in a jacket and socks at the last minute when we left town for The Black Hills, Tetons, Yellowstone and Glacier. We ran into 10" inches of snow and 40 degree highs the second day out.

It is the contract carriers in their Ryder rental vans that seem to be the most sloppy. Real Fed Ex drivers have more pride in their job and seem to try harder.

That has been my experience also...the regular guys make an effort to do the right thing...the contract guys are simply picking up a pay check with no regard for the job they have. Piss poor example of work ethic...better watch out, companies are going to have their pick pretty soon with the economy doing flip flops.
