Just a little something I found humorous …
Today, we were told that full-time employees would receive a bonus check as part of the "CARES Act Funds".
However, as it's considered a "bonus", it's taxed at a much higher rate … about 40%.
So, the government gives the money to the hospital, they cut us a small portion and the gov't takes back almost half.

Heading back to hell, I mean Harris County today to get some more stuff from the house and setup the repairs. More trouble and tickets than I care to remember in that hell of a county....act more in Galveston County....but they have a beach |

 5 this morning Buddy went crazy barking, I got up, killed the floodlights, got my hog leg and eased out the back door, there was a truck on the highway, voices, I stayed in the dark, another vechile came , seems like they jumped started the truckFinally they went away. This morning my wife went to throw some nasty smelling stuff in the coulle, she found a nice flashlight in my drive way. I figured they parked the truck and came on foot to burgle. They don’t know how lucky they were, my Rock and Roller was gonna tame them SOBS. FIGURE buddy gets a steak.

5 this morning Buddy went crazy barking, I got up, killed the floodlights, got my hog leg and eased out the back door, there was a truck on the highway, voices, I stayed in the dark, another vechile came , seems like they jumped started the truckFinally they went away. This morning my wife went to throw some nasty smelling stuff in the coulle, she found a nice flashlight in my drive way. I figured they parked the truck and came on foot to burgle. They don’t know how lucky they were, my Rock and Roller was gonna tame them SOBS. FIGURE buddy gets a steak. Or, they could have been coming to ask for help with a broken down vehicle. That has happened to me. I walked home 23 miles one winter night, too fearful to approach any ones' home for fear of being shot. We have become such a sick society. I have helped many stranded motorists late at night on the road who came to my door. I stopped answering the door with a gun long ago for fear of an accident. If it is trouble, so be it. Or they could have been Highwaymen. |

I would love to see my old dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, my old bull, "Seamus", many of my cows and goats. It could be a little crowded up there. I hope St. Peter has a spot for me in the back 40. |

Somehow, against my will, I wound up in the forefront of the fire relief efforts for our area. Its not my strong suite, but it happened. After about 2 days of trying to be uncharacteristicly diplomatic, I said screw it. I gotta be me. It turns out that, instead of being a detriment, people have actually preferred the cowboy who is black-and-white in view, blunt in expression and shut-up-and-git-it-done in approach. I though it would drive everyone off and give me peace. It has instead made me busier. Dealing with so many bone-headed people in a capacity I aint cut out for has increased my stress level...greatly. I run nonstop and answer the cellphone until Ive had enough, then I just retreat back to my ranch, to my porch, my rocker and my cigars until it all begins again the next day. Shweetie, my blessed wife, tried last night to get me to go to Idaho for a couple of days to pick up a horse and hug the grandbabies. But you dont leave the herd in the middle of a storm, so I cant bring myself to do that right now. But I am taking tomorrow off for myself, and going on a long horseback ride with my son. Why is it the administrators, the politicians, the organization and the corporations tangle everything up so bad, and the wore-out dirty-necked cowboys and farmers who gotta work for a livin' to survive have to come along and actually get stuff done? There. That's my rant for the day. I feel better.  |

You got it right Cowboy, those that do, do, those that can’t get into management, politics, etc. To move people you got to be clear, conscience and mother f¥£k them sometimes. I don’t doubt that you do a fine job.

People seem to have become much dumber than they used to be. Argumentative, uncooperative, selfish. When someone is selected to run the show, sail the ship, man the fire line, whatever, Shut-the fudge-up and follow orders. No one is interested in your alternative views or YOU would have been selected to lead..

While in the Army,I ran into way to many people that figured they new better than I did,so when they challenged me, I gave them to project and told them when I expected it to done.....that usually changed their tune

The political nonsense ingrained in government, commercial enterprises, and such are ridiculous. There is a certain comfort level when you are riding down the trail of your career that you can tell it like it is and to heck with the consequences. Fortunately I work for a guy with out a college degree where it is unheard of not having one in his position. In my initial interview he told me that "I hire men, I give you a credit card to get the job done, unless it is over 10K don't call me, just get it done." If it wasn't for this cat, I would be gone, the demands on him are pretty demanding, his are at a higher level...I am in a teapot, he is in a pressure cooker. |

Are they going to go after the one(s) with more or less money? Those folks you mention have money so they are a target. |
