You old codgers woulda been proud of me today. Went to the car dealership to buy my lease out today. Lost my composure when they presented me with the interest rates for my loan, with my absolutely SKY HIGH credit score. I mean, my credit score is unbelievably good. I lost it on the guy. I yelled, and cussed like a sailor. I let them know I wasn't taking any of their dealership sh!t. The head sales guy had to come in and ameliorate the situation. I left with a better deal than they've probably given anyone in the last 10 years. Enough is enough with that crap. I frickin hate having to fight with companies to get the blood from their stone. I mean, walk me through the garden path, and then present me numbers like I'm an imbecile. Sheesh.

I had a community garden that I rented. With recent events I was un able to finish the season. So I contacted the garden people and donated to the food bank anything that they could have.
They were able to get a few harvests of beans, tomatoes, onions and carrots. Unfortunately the little animals got into my strawberry patch. Next year will be better and I will even be growing mushrooms. Come on spring!!

Being a bit of an amateur reloader myself I find that fascinating!! I agree, I too couldn't have done that if I tried. But then most of my reloading is find a safe load for whatever projectile I have at hand with whatever powder I have at hand and load it up for some recoil therapy with the venerable 30.06 (Eddystone factory Enfield pattern sporterized by my wife's father many moons ago).
I'm no marksman, cant even shoot as well as I did when I was younger, though that's more because I don't shoot as much than anything. Most of my trips to the range anymore involve only my .50 muzzle loader at 50 yards. Occasionally when I am having a good day I'll push it to 100, but I can barely see a 3" dot at that range so I don't usually go out that far.
My day, took half day off to go get covid tested, I'm not really at risk but Im going to a birthday get together at a friends house (his B-day) and since he and his family are immuno compromised I wanted to be iron clad sure.

I had a neighbor when I lived up north who was a cop..He gave me shooting lessons and advice on what to do in case of a break in..He told me that if someone comes in your house they probably won't be more than about 25 feet from you..Shooting at a distance is good for hunting,but not necessary for self defense..I say this because I have never hunted,so I haven't practiced shooting much at a distance.

Getting ready for winter by replacing a failed glow-plug controller and changing the oil in the '95 7.3 Powerstroke. I use Rotella T5, and brother, that stuff aint cheap.
A buddy of mine once said "I dont wanna be filthy rich, I just wanna be rich enough to change my oil when it needs it".
The 7.3 uses 15qts of oil once you fill up the filter.

More rain in bands that come and go. Of course Houston is flooding they don't know how to dig a proper ditch despite getting over 10 billion to do so. Houston a prime example of how not to do city planning and public works. Almost as stupid as building a giant loop that makes you get off the freeway so you can drive on city streets to connect to another freeway. But I digress I am well north of city and the county not as far as Ron but I am working on it.

That's over $65 at Walmart! I use it in the trike and it's cheap compared to motorcycle oil. I use the Rotella Gas Truck in the Ram. It's worth it. |

I use T-6 in my 7.3 and that is even more costly but helps with winter starts. Take comfort from knowing we both have about the best light truck diesel engine ever made. Treat it right and it will be your friend for ever. |

I replaced the glow plug controller on the 7.3 this morning. It was a simple fix, but Im a little disgruntled that the bad one was less than a year old.
