Back from Xmas late lunch early dinner with the parents. Dad surprised me with a new kindle. I mentioned wanted one for ebooks as I broke mine and didn’t have the money to replace it as other things I wanted kept coming up. He knows what a big reader I am. My mom got me socks and a gift card to Trader Joe’s. I wasn’t expecting anything so it was a pleasant surprise. I got my mom some bath products And my dad a map of the us sticker for their new to them RV as he mentioned he wanted one but couldn’t find one. So pleasant evening all around. We also play a scratch card for Xmas a tradition i belive was my grandfather Dons. I won 25 dollars so nice end to a wonderful day.

A really quiet day here. I did my imitation of an ol' guy living alone with two dogs on an isolated ranch. Getting pretty good at it, too! :^) It got up to 59° and was sunny and mostly windless all day. What's not to like?

Woke up this morning and my jaw is sore! Even with my mouth guard I must be grinding or clenching my jaw in my sleep. Feel like I’ve been punched in the mouth a few times. Oh well, a couple fingers of Dalwhinnie 15 and I’ll be good as new or very happy.🤪🥃

Pipe tobacco, coffee, and gun powder.... ... a day well spent. I hope you smoked the right one! I knew that last pipe burned WAYYY too fast. I need candles with those 3 scents all mixed together.

A really nice day here in the southern Sandhills. It got up to 60° while the sun was out, and then fell slowly once it hid behind some clouds. Really bad storms east of me but no sign of them in these parts. Some strange weather for this time of year!
The dogs got their run and are now resting on the couch so all’s right with the world. But,,, the Rhino has developed a really bad fuel leak and will have to go to my machine doc before it can be used again. Cuts down on my mobility as it is the prime transport and work vehicle on the place. Can’t complain though since it is 15 years old and has been almost trouble free. I need it working!

Pipe tobacco, coffee, and gun powder.... ... a day well spent I'll say!! Sounds like you had fun! I dunno. That three layered pipe load sounds pretty doggone dangerous. You either grow chest hair or you adopt the John Wayne principle. "Whatever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger".

Never got above the mid 20s. Yard hydrant froze. I assume the ground around it was soaked. So, now I have to use an indoor tap to water the outside critters.

Really nice here today. Went over the work to be done with the tree guy. Then I hooked up the AV receiver to the speakers and the turntable and played the only record that wasn't packed away. FM:Blacknoise. The bass was missing. I checked out subwoofer and it somehow blew a fuse while in the box. 😐 I knew I had a box of fuses that I could get to. But it was empty. 😑 I always find these things out after the hardware store is closed on a Saturday night. 😣

As my brother-in-law was leaving yesterday, I asked him if he'd be interested in smoking a pipe - he said he would, so I gave him a pipe and a few different tobaccos to try and sent him a couple videos on packing and smoking. Today he said he enjoyed his first attempt! Hoping he enjoys it and that I have someone else to smoke with when we see each other!

We had a great holiday with our daughter, S-I-L, and two grandkids, plus their three small dogs, for a total of six people and five dogs. The weather was mostly great and my S-I-L were able to get in a few smokes on the patio. A great time was had by all. They are headed home tomorrow early. Sorry to see them go, but glad we could be together for a week.

54° and sunny here in central north Florida...last 2 nights it got down to 26° which is pretty rare for this time of year. Today is perfect for smoking on the porch after taking small "child" for a walk in the yard.

Warmed up to 38 degrees! Front rolling which will bring snow, I hope. Q Q Q Q Q Q `
The "Q"s above are courtesy of my kitten, "Luger", who decided to step on the key board.

Partly cloudy and 39°. Live streamed the Sunday service from the house today, as the local school that my wife works at has temporarily closed due to a positive Covid test, so we closed the church out of caution and an attempt to behave wisely.
The rest of the day will likely be fairly sedate. Aka..."lazy".

Lincoln Logs were new in my day! 😁 🤠 I remember my grandfather telling stories about banging rocks together while walking up hill in the snow both ways. 😁 Ahh yes, the legendary uphill both ways route. No story told by older family member to a youngster is complete without mention of the dreaded double uphill march!
