Clouding up some and a few droplets of wetness. I am hoping for a wet 4th of July.

In the good news category: My wife was tested for Covid on Monday, after an outbreak at her office. Her results came back today; negative! She remains quarantined until the 8th and I am quarantine free. I've not been smoking since Saturday, at our daughter's request, but now I feel the need for a celebratory pipe. 97 degrees, 27% humidity, very little wind; a perfect July afternoon.

Maybe some of 'Woolies snow? We've got percipitation to spare, Id trade some of it for about 10 more degrees of temperature. My knees and the steel in my neck have been making me grumpy through all of this.

Made adjustments to the irrigation system which should hopefully hold our irrigators through to Sunday. You see, I want to take tomorrow, the 4th of July, off and spend it with what friends I do have. That means getting out of the area as early as possible and turning off the cell phone. Sorry, folks, you on your own until Sunday.

Aw, shucks!! (kicking dirt). Go have a good time. I'll make do somehow. We gonna make Paella, as traditional as we can. Mixed shell fish, chicken and Spanish Chorizo. This here is New Mexico, as Spanish as it is Yankee.

Right now it is 88 F with 30% humidity and fireworks are going off all over the neighborhood. Because of this, the current chance of shite for 3 July 2020 is 86%. Adjust your scorecards accordingly.

Has a great fire-pit roast, just my family. It was great. Then we went shooting the AR, the TRP and 20 gauge.

Lazy day. Changed oil in lawn mower and sharpened the blades. Read a book. Took a short nap. Then cooked a steak and sausages on the grill. The wife worked until 2 in the afternoon.

The people across the road set the subdivision fence on fire. The fire department is out there now fighting it. I've been trying to get the HOA to clear out the pampas grass along the fence for years since the last time it caught fire. Volunteer firemen are busy tonight and the houses all around are still shooting fireworks while they are fighting it. Crazy!

He sent me a picture on messenger this evening of all of his turn-out gear set out, staged and ready for this evening's festivities

But you're supposed to set them off on the reservation too, but that never seems to happen.

I baked a blueberry pie and tried a new technique to preserve the structure of the berries. It seems to have worked.

I love a happy ending, dateline Houston: It's funny that he thought he could shoot the lock out of a metal door with a handgun. He sure changed his tune the F'n coward.

I baked a blueberry pie and tried a new technique to preserve the structure of the berries. It seems to have worked. Do tell please! I love a good berry pie, but dont bake often enough to figure these little things out. (I'm one of the lazy ones who usually settles for store bought pies) Blueberries are delicate, as you know, as well as having a lot of juice so there are two problems with making a pie: (1) excess juice for soggy crusts and (2) over processing to where the final product is more jam than berries. So this technique uses 4 pts of berries where you cook 1 pt with the sugar (and cinnamon) along with all the cornstarch. Once it thickens, you stir in a tbsp of butter and let cool for 5 minutes. After it cools you fold in the rest of the berries (and some grated lemon rind) which keeps the integrity of the berries. It worked well but you need to let the pie cool fully for the cornstarch to set for all the berries. Anyway, that's the idea. Its supposed to work with any "delicate" fruit. This was my first foray and it seems to ave worked so I will try it again.

It is 4:52 PM. I went outside to prepare the Webber Grill for charcoal. The direct sunlight is so intense, my arms and back started burning though my all- cotton chambray long sleeve shirt. That is how intense the UV radiation is just now. I will have to wait until the Sun drops.

A month ago at sea level, I got the same epidural treatment in San Diego. It is a good thing that my mom's native American skin overcomes my dad's European DNA. Color me tanned.
