was Quorum 6x50 while sitting out on back porch reading & watching wifie do some planting, then finished while doing a little cleanup
have asked before, wound up with 3 bundles of Quorum, passed on by late friend's widow some time ago. Anybody care to coment on Quorum? Supposedly a highly ranked bundle smoke.
Ed Duncan, Batavia, NY never been a cigar common sewer but seems to be nice for me. My others, no-bands in various sizes

Uses some of the same filler as Fuente and well constructed v.s other short fillers.

Up next ... Oliva V Melanio
I'm not a big fan of Quorum cigars but they certainly have their appeal as a decent low priced stick. I'd grab a five pack of those to take fishing and be happy.

The sun is setting on the mountains and all the creatures are coming out to make the best of these last couple of hours. I'm finishing up the evening with a MUWAT Fire Cured Kentucky and two fingers of bourbon.

Joya De Nicaragua Antaño 1970, Robusto Grande.
Chris’s sale (Insignia100) couldn’t have came at a better time. I had smoked my last stick, and the time that it took allowed me to re-season my desktop humidor. A lot of great sticks in fine condition, at a reasonable price.

My first Cohiba Black. I prefer a rich, dark full-bodied cigar, but I dont think this is gonna be an every-day cigar.

I need some help. I got in 20 Cohiba Blacks over 2 weeks ago, and put them immediately into a glass jar with a sealed lid. I also put in 1 small Boveda pack 69%. I pulled the first one out yesterday, and it burned real sloppy. I chased runners and tunnels the whole stick, and the flavor was...burnt.
Got another one today, and it burned better and the flavor was good, but the wrapper just kept crumbling and unwinding, and it was really dry between my teeth.
Is a small 69% pack not enough for 20 cigars? Is 2 weeks not enough time to hydrate properly? Ive not run into this before. And no, I dont have a hygrometer. I know that would help. Obviously, the rh is too low, I just cant figure out why.

Cigars always seem to arrive either too dry or too moist. They can take weeks / months to equilibrate. Also, these changes in humidity reactivate the fermentation processes. When I roll cigars, they are good for a few days. After that, they undergo some kind of enzymatic process and it's several months before they are good again. Your best bet is to let them rest as long as possible. This is the hard part! Lol
The larger Boveda packs in a cake pan sized Tupperware are perfect for up to 50 sticks. I prefer the 65% packs to compensate for the more damp ones.
Edit: You've got to get a hygrometer for longer term storage. It's also important to calibrate the device every 6 months or so. The Salt Test Method is what I use and I'd be happy to explain that if you're interested.

Good information indeed, Darin.
Thanks.
It really clicks with me. I have had mixed results like Dewayne with past purchases, but I recently bought a lot of aged sticks from Chris (Insignia), and they have all been phenomenal. It all really makes sense though, I am reaping the rewards of some aged pipe tobacco.
Fallen Angel Toro tonight...a really great smoke.

Darin is a pro, I’m a beginner, bought a adjustable digital hydrometer from Amazon for about 15$, got some table salt, a plastic pop cal, filled it with salt, saturated the salt with distilled water, put water by dripping till it looks soupy, cap and hydro go in plastic zip lock, forget about it for 24 hrs, meter should read 75%, if not adjust. I use the small humidors , one says 100 cigars, opmistic really about 75. Bought a bag of glass beads and put a deep saucer with beads with distilled water. Have found in South Louisiana where humidity is high it to be little maintence. One tip I’m keeping them about 65% , when it gets lower don’t pour a lot of distilled water on beads, a little water goes a long way. I also converted a small wine cooler to a humidor, put a small computer fan with timer in it with beads and Viola it works. You really need a digital hydrometer so you know where you’re at.

I use a digital hygrometer, gel humidifier & Brigham PG Pre-Mixed Humidor Solution in a wood humidor that holds maybe 70 sticks for the past 30 years and it keeps at 70%. I am getting lazy so I just like grabbin a cigar & smoking.

Cohiba Black after a very busy day. Yeah, its a little dry, but a dry cigar is better than no cigar.

Brick House Maduro. I had to run into town to get some supplies, and I swung by the cigar shop. No point in making a wasted trip.
