After hunting for well over a year, maybe 2, I was finally able to locate, and snag, a Stanwell 126. I know what you mean. I smoked a pipe for a couple years in the 1998-2000 time frame. I only owned 3 or 4 pipes and only smoked 2 tobaccos - both from a local shop. 90% of the time I smoked a Jobey Strombolli 300. I've been looking for one since I started again this past April. On Amazon and TobaccoPipes.com they were listed as "Out of Stock". Lately TobaccoPipes.com removed the listing all together. No one else has them listed either. I did buy a Jobey Shellmoor 300 on Ebay, but I'm still on the look out for the Strombolli.

It looks like the Stromboli is heavily rusticated. There is a smooth one on eBay for $15 that you can practice your rustication on. 😉

Ill keep my grubby mitts off of it 🤣 Ronv69 ive been able to find them here and there, but none that really appealed to me. This one grabbed my eye immediately and the price was low enough that I didn't even think twice. $60 & free shipping. While the hunt for things is a topic... Ive been searching for a dagger that an old "friend" stole from me when I was 16. That quest has been going on for 22 years now.

A pound of old joe krantz from the smoking pipes 20% off sale. I’ve added 2 pounds of various blends to the cellar in 2 weeks. I don’t plan to order anything for a while.

Roma pipes are not world-beaters, but I have one of their churchwardens, a smooth egg (7128) that is a really pleasant, cool-smoking pipe. A highlight of the day is to sit at the table after b’fast and smoke a bowl in it. Or maybe while watching a DVD from dvd.com. I noticed that P&C was having a sale on them and just ordered two more, in different styles from the smooth egg. This will let me give them each an adequate rest while enjoying them. I was going to give pipe-buying a rest for a while, but thought it prudent to take advantage of the sale price while it was available. Not a major investment by any means, except in the quiet, meditative contemplation they provide.

Shoulder holster rig from El Paso for the 1911. Wish I had known earlier. I have a fine leather one I used in Afghanistan collecting dust somewhere. Better to have someone use it then sitting in my garage somewhere.

Maybe if civilization catches up with us in Linden I will be prepared.

If you like AJF strongly recommend trying the New World in box pressed Toro (sometimes called the Globonator). As Toro size, it’s a “beefy” looking stick but very smooth and mild profile. Great price point for a box and indeed an everyday smoke. It’s perfect for the newbie or aficionado.
