Listening and watching to Andrea Bocelli, at his home in Tuscany: "The Heart of Christmas" on TBN. Pretty uplifting, and now the wife wants a trip to Tuscany....

Oh Hell no! 😡🤬 My wife had on some of his "Christian" music yesterday. I'd say that it's an improvement, but just being Christian music doesn't make it good music. Whose Christian music is better - Bieber's or Kanye West's? I haven't listened to much of either, but if it's spreading positivity and pointing towards at least some set of morals, that's a good thing. I'd rather listen to some good gregorian chant before I put on either of those two. Or this:

Manheim Steamroller "Christmas" some version of the "Messiah". Clara Rockmore, Jackie Evancho, The Wolfe Tones, Carpenters Christmas, The Glen Miller Orchestra "In the Christmas Mood. Stuff.

Listening/ watching “The Voice” with the wife...they do get some surprisingly good talent, but if it was up to me, I would never watch it.

Holiday Traditions on Sirius XM. Bing is and will always be my favorite... but I like a little variety too.

Frustrating day. Not listening to anything. Turned on the stereo today and the old Pioneer AM/FM Amplifier was FUBAR. Right channel dead. Music volume low and distorted on the left channel. Control panel showing random characters.
Pulled another old Pioneer out of storage and wired it all up. No easy feat given the entertainment center and all the other wires and components. It had problems too. Thought it was the volume pot. Could run volume up and down and the left and right channels would short in and out. Finally thought it was working, but then the right channel went totally dead.
Grabbed the old Sherwood out of the garage where I had it set up. Wired it up. It's working fine.
Can't expect these old stereo amps from the late 70's and 80's to last forever - but they did last a long time.
(My wife rolled her eyes when I said I was going to open them up and see if I could fix them.)

“ Grabbed the old Sherwood out of the garage where I had it set up.”
The garage is not your electronics friend, humidity variances not to mention temperature swings are hard on the innards.
Having said that, I have an electromechanical Williams Pinball machine that I dream of someday getting it up and running. It has spent 20 years in my Arizona garage. All of my 10 meter radios and even my lithium drills live inside the house.

Not only is the Sherwood brand synonymous with high performance audio worldwide, but it is an industry secret that Sherwood is the actual manufacturer of nearly one-third of the world’s high performance receivers. Many of the products we build are available with brand names which may be better known than our own. But none are built with the same sense of pride as those that bear our own name, nor are any better built or better engineered than those that bear our Newcastle badge. Newcastle is the best we build for anyone. Probably from 20 years ago my receiver still works and it plays Dolby 7.1 and why not Sherwood Labs developed it.

Listening/ watching “The Voice” with the wife...they do get some surprisingly good talent, but if it was up to me, I would never watch it. Oh come on Charlie, it’s not that bad. I’ve found the best part of the show are “the Blinds.” After that, fast forward to the finale... maybe.

Listening to... silence. Without my hearing aids that’s all I hear. I have to have a reason to put them on, otherwise they stay “resting” on the table waiting for the call to duty. If I wear them all day when I take them off the silence is even more profound. Blissful!
