"The Spy in Black", 1939. Conrad Veidt, aka Major Strasse from "Casablanca". In this earlier movie,,he shows more range and emotion and is quite likable as a German Navy Captain on a spy mission in Scotland during WWI. He really was a very fine actor. No one can do the Monocle as well as he. I tried. With the ever lovely Valerie Hobson.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople.
(I watch maybe one movie a month, for me there just seems to be so many other things to do than watch other people pretend to do things. So my vote might not be the most helpful here.)
That being said, watched this with some family and did enjoy it. Funny family movie without naked people, gallons of blood, and any profanity that I remember. It was also under 2 hours which I appreciate.
It was on Hulu.
Girlfriend likes movies, said it was a 7 out of 10 for her. Hope that helps!

Watched the Lincoln Lawyer at the weekend. Not a bad film. I don't mind the odd courtroom drama - this had less courtroom in it though, to be fair. I'd give it a 7/10.

Rain Man. Dustin Hoffman gives a incredible performance and Tom Cruise plays punk Tom Cruise as he does in all his movies. So I give it a 7.5/10

As usual I've watched all the Oscar Nominated non animated feature films and contenders. I've really enjoyed most of them but Once Upon a Time, Joaquin Phoenix, Renee Zellweger and Todd Phillips are my winners.

I enjoy courtroom Dramas. English ones, especially. "Witness for the Prosecution" being one of my favorites. With that cast, how can it not be great? If you enjoy them, try the movie "Nuts" with Barbara Streisand. She does an outstanding job in a serious role. She is tried for sanity.

God forgives, I don't (1972). A Hill & Spencer western where the title is the best part. The villain is kind of a fun guy, if that helps.
A Day of Anger (1967). Feels like four separate scripts for Have Gun, Will Travel sandwiched into 95 minutes. The first 15 and last 15 minutes keep you interested and anyone curious about what else Angel Eyes was doing in 1967 will pay attention to the rest.

1917 It was OK. The story is very simplistic. The directorial style of the film was by far the most interesting to watch. One camera shot for 95% of the movie creates a bunch of tension because it's like you are there. Gave it 8 out of 10 mainly because of the talent of the camera work.

I havent sat down and watched a movie since last December, but last night Shweetie and I watched a movie called "The Kid". Its a newer western with Ethan Hawk, Chris Pratt and some kid named Dehaan I dont know. The portrayal of Billie the Kid's story was more realistic than you usually see, but the overall movie wasnt something I'll care to watch again. Chris Pratt went totally outside of his normal casting, and did really good. But is was mostly pretty slow and tepid.
I dunno. 5/5 maybe

The Girl With The Spider Tattoo. One of those movies that deserves more than one viewing. Very well filmed and the plot is deeper than it first appears. 8.5/10

Danish or American version? I believe I watched the Danish version years ago. We watched all three in Danish and they were so good that we don't want to watch the English versions.

Cinematically, maybe, but historically, politically and morally his ‘gangster’ films are false, repugnant, trashy and nihilistic.

Zodiac, A movie about a newspaper political cartoonist and his quest to find the Zodiac killer. Although he was never found, Zodiac that is, the cartoonist does make a strong case for one suspect. 4.5/5 stars.. on Netflix

I saw the Irishman but it pretty much bored me to tears, Based on a book by Brandt or maybe i just cant stand the site of DiNero. Plenty of good actors but the play and topic has been going stale for some time. Like Goodfellows meets the rest home is more like it. If you find yourself bored it is just more Hoffa flick. 5/10 And it is still better than Ballywood Rocket Man.

I just saw "National Lampoons Dirty Movie" and it was hilarious! A throwback to the days before political correctness ruined everything. Come to think of it, there is absolutely nothing correct about politics or politicians
10 out of 10 because I laughed non stop from start to finish.
