We watched Knives Out last night, an enjoyable movie. I watched that one too. A very good tale. Some good acting too.

Zodiac, A movie about a newspaper political cartoonist and his quest to find the Zodiac killer. Although he was never found, Zodiac that is, the cartoonist does make a strong case for one suspect. 4.5/5 stars.. on Netflix I saw the movie and remember the whole story. I lived in S.F. during those days and remember Z. I knew that SFPD Inspector, Dave Toschi. He was kind of a celebrity back then and made appearances at restaurants, clubs, parties. Herb Caen, the S.F. Chronicle Columnist, was always writing up snippets about him. I think it was his bow-ties that intrigued everyone. He has a lot of style and presence. Few police detectives are like that, it seems.

Watched Ford vs Ferrari tonight 9/10. Really enjoyed it. My wife got mad at me for stopping the movie and mansplaing technical details. I guess hot-rodding stays in the blood once you get infected.

Watched Knives Out. OK movie. They try and break from the traditional "who done it" style of Murder Mysteries. 7 out of 10 stars.
Watched Once upon a time in Hollywood for a second time, it doesn't hold up very well to a second watching.
Saw The Irishman again. That is a movie that holds up after multiple watching's.

The only f*#Kup I saw on Ford Vs Ferrari was during a pit stop after showing brakes glowing red hot was mechanic was barehanded removing Big Spinner Nut holding wheel on. Told wife in real life that would have been a hopping hand holding hombre.

I don't think that the brakes would glow THAT brightly either.

Just watched a WW1 movie called “Journey’s End”. Sad, gripping and well worth watching. I give it 9 out if 10.

Just watched "The Highwaymen". The story of the good guys. Not some lame glorification of a couple of vicious punks. Loved it. 8/10. Frank Hamer and Maney Gault were tougher than horsehide.

I will have to look for that one. Frank Hamer is one of my favorite Texans. I am less familiar with Maney Gault and Prentis Oakley.

After looking up the movie, I ordered the DVD on Ebay. $7.30. I like the cast. Costner is not one of my favorites but he is good in Westerns. Harrelson is always good.

I think they were both good fits in this movie. A particularly powerful scene is Hamer’s conversation with Clyde’s father. Another is Maney’s story while playing poker. There is a bathroom scene that is also truly awesome.

Turns out I did not order the DVD but the lobby card movie poster. Ah, Ebay and their Chinese vendors. Anyway, it is a cool poster. I am giving it to my Sheriff for his office.

The irony of watching a bootlegged copy of a movie about two famous lawmen is not lost on me.

Went back and watched The Paper Chase from 1973. Lots of pipe smoking in the movie. Good flick from a time when the US was less cynical.
