Anytime I do an PC update or it does it automatically Google decides to lock me out of my account, no matter if I give the the RECOVERY email address or not. They insist I use a fricken cell phone to unlock my account. So if you don't own a cellphone I reckon your some sort of out cast no worthy of a fricken Gmail account. At least that's what there saying, making a cellphone mandatory is like if I was not the same color as them, religion, creed, etc. I reckon the next thing will be everyone has to drive a Tesla and wear Armani etc.etc. I'm pissed and if there's anyway at all I will fix there wagon for'em. They haven't heard the last of me yet.

That sucks. Is there someone else's cellphone number you can use (someone you trust - maybe someone here on the Patch) and when this happens you have a workaround?

I do not know what you are complaining about. There are any number of Russian, North Korean and Chinese computer nerds who would love to help you with your Google account.
Seriously, I have a similar problem but use my Yahoo email to re-open my Gmail account.

There's no one near by that I can depend on for such a thing and to be truthful I would hesitate to ask anyone for such help on a regular basis as often as it happens. I have used others cell phone numbers twice before but, the second time they still wouldn't unlock it. Probably because the second time I used a different number and I have no number on file. I thought about getting a burner phone but, even then I'd have to pay for minutes on it and no matter how many minutes you have they have an expiration time and you have to buy more minutes to keep it working. It be like paying for Gmail and I just aint gona do that. I have my Hughes account and all my mail goes there first anyway, it's just Gmail is a lot easier and nicer to use (sorry to say). I reckon I should get over it and just use my Hughes email but, the principles just aggravate me. When someone does me wrong I have a hard time letting go sometimes.

Yes sir, and I have my Hughes email account as my RECOVERY email but, they still won't unlock it. They say thank you but, we still can't verify you own the account. What fricken part of RECOVERY email don't they understand, fricken morons! Sorry, it just REALLY pisses me off.
I read on there forum one guy lost a months revenue because the jack-asses locked him out of his account and he has a cell phone. Google is just full of the usual employees that don't wish to do there job properly, just the easy way by ignoring problems and passing them off to the next guy that does the same. Lets face it, Americans don't want to work for a living anymore. They just want to show up to work and do as little as possible as they can get away with and go home expecting a full pay check at the end of the week. There lazy and worthless and
stand around pointing there finger at someone else as the problem. If they'd get up off there lazy asses and do some real work they wouldn't have to try and pass the buck but, its easier for them to be lazy no accounts. And they wonder why America is failing. |

I assume they just text you a code to temporarily unlock the account so you can reset the password. I can help with that if interested send me a PM.

They unlock it period, no need to change anything, sometimes I think they do it just to be pricks.
I hope there listening too.

Not knowing your business situation, but you might want to pay a fee and have an email account by a company that doesn’t want to just mine all your information for the “free” service. There are certainly other companies, but www.reagan.com/ comes to mind. |

There are certainly other companies, but www.reagan.com/ comes to mind. I have my Hughes account Charlie and its safe from Googleidiots,
I'm just really pissed at Google and the way they treat people while obviously making way too much fricken money. |

UPDATE: Just went to login today on a chance and sure enough they let me in without a hitch.
Just don't understand why I'm having so much problem with them since I moved here.
Never ever had this problem before on cable, just since I've had to use satellite internet connection.

Satellite has a one second or longer delay. There are many things that this can affect.

I’ve been using fastmail for years now. They’re in Oz and do a heckuva job. I think I pay something like $14 a year. I’ve discovered there is not such critter as a “free” email account. There are always evil elements.

I have been using hotmail.com (Outlook). I have 3 accounts. Free, and never an issue. Don't forget Google is a monitoring site first and foremost. A search engine is a distant second.
