thank you, sir. lol. the little no name briar had a pearly peach stem, hard to turn down. and i've also been wanting a mini churchwarden and this one had a good bowl shape for me. And I needed two more Diplomats for my rotation, lol. I try out new blends in a cob, hoping to avoid the dreaded ghosts!

I think cobs are awesome. They smoke just as well as any briar, and the price is just a bonus. I always said they have a rustic charm, and remind me of Tom Sawyer, then MM came out with a Tom Sawyer line, so apparently they agree!

I can imagine my great-great-great-grandmother smoking a cob, though some have speculated that the pipe in her portrait is probably a clay, and it also seems culturally appropriate, lol. But when it was when I saw a cob pipe in a drug store, great price, that I decided I would try pipe smoking and see what granny liked about it  Cobs are less fussy and i don't worry about bumping them around if I travel.
