Kicked the morning off with another bowl of Awakened Elder in the Curvy 02, coffee in the other hand, barreling down the road to the sweet sounds of the Dead's Without A Net. Landed safely at the office and reached for a pinch of Wilson's Irish High Toast 22. Come get me Wednesday.

GLP Quiet Nights in a Bertram "60" billiard, made sometime in the 1950s, in Washington, D.C. Photographed: Marwari Horse. What a magnificent creature that horse is!!! Just loaded a cob with McClelland 5100 from 2013...so glad I cellared this terrific tobacco way back when it was easily available. With age on it, it is sweet as sugar in the bowl. Looking forward to getting my cellar and pipes back from Josh, who was holding it for me while I was down in Miami...told him if he didn't hear from me for 6 months to consider it his, as he will inherit all my pipes and tobacco when my time comes or I am unable to smoke anymore.

I knew who made that one before I read the post Puffing on and off on some Presbyterian while doing ebonite maintenance and watching Kojak: still holds up well, used to watch it dubbed with my grandad on local TV.

Carter Hall in new Savinelli 320. It smokes very well, and there is such thick briar here, its not hot for being so short. I did replace that triangle filter with the provided open sleeve. That filter restricts the draw to a rediculous degree. I have really big hands, and this smooth, hefty chunk of round, polished briar is very comfortable and natural for me to hold. I never even knew that was such a factor in enjoying a pipe

Yup, Dewayne...that is a sweet hunk of briar!! ...and BrunoT...you are right, if it is a gorgeous pipe, it probably came from the bench of Ron of RdPipes....he makes some of the finest pipes I've had the pleasure of smoking. Got a bowl of Arango Balkan Supreme in my small Rhodesian/doggie made by the famous artisan... Ron of RdPipes.
