Is anyone else excited about it? I'm a lifelong Bears fan, but I think this will be a great game. I've liked the 49ers since the Montana days, and have rooted for them in all their Super Bowls. I like the Chiefs and Mahomes too, though, and I wouldn't mind seeing Andy Reid get a ring. (Really, I was good with anyone but the Packers.)
My prediction: Chiefs 37 49ers 34

During the Montana/ Young/ Bono era, I worked for a company that was the official meat supplier to the 49'ers and Dwight Clark's restarant "Clark's by the bay was one of my customers....I met all of them guys and coach Walsh and Siefert...all of them a class act, an especially great story with coach Walsh and my son that maybe I will tell later.
I moved to Arizona and became a Cardinal's fan, and was very disappointed in how the 49'ers handled the nonsense with Kaepernick...I always figured that for the most part all professional athletes are just mercenaries willing to sell their soul to the highest bidder, after Ricky Henderson as an Oakland A showed his bum.)
I am rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs having lived in Wichita Kansas for several years (Yeah, I know that Arrowhead stadium is on Missouri soil, but Wichita folk generally support the chiefs.
My Bride is from Silicon Valley and a hardcore 49'ers fan, and I am telling her that the chiefs are going to put up the numbers and she is telling me that 9'ers are going to stomp the Chiefs.
Mahomes and crew better deliver the goods, I don't like eating crow.

The opening with honoring the Medal of Honor recipient/ lady owners of the NFL mentioning their support for the military, and Johnny Cash's Ragged old Flag is a nice touch.

I generally liked Wichita, except for having to spend many tornado warning summer nights in the basement.
I'd like to hear your Walsh story.

I guess I want KC to win. Not very interested in the NFL anymore though. The game has changed too much from what I used to enjoy.

I dont even have the tv on. I have my phone in my pocket and ear buds in my ears listening to my normal line of of 5FDP and Slipknot, relaxing this Sunday evening.
Sidenote: I love college sports. Pro sports are a show for a paycheck.

The company that I worked for back in in the day had food convention at the Santa Clara Convention center, a few blocks away from the newly opened 49'ers training facility. My son had his multi autographed gold 9'ers jacket on and I asked if he would like to go to the training facility...and away we went.
As we entered the facility a guy behind the desk (A friggin beast of a guy) asked gruffly "can I help you"! in an arrogant tone. I told him hat we were just there to look at the trophies...
"Fine, if anyone comes down them stairs, don't you look at them, speak to them, or ask for an autograph."
The dude must have been a third string animal sequestered to the desk.
"No problem" I said as I showed my son the trophies.
A few minutes later, Coach Walsh came down the stairs and our eyes fixated on each other..."coach Walsh" I said as I saw the musclehead looking like a chained animal in my peripheral vision wanting to rip my head off.
Coach Walsh walked up to my son and said "when are you going to come play for me?" as he tousled his hair..."you look like you have what it takes, and I would lime you on my team...listen to your folks, do good in school and be a good man, and you will be at the top of my list." ( We talked for a good five minutes)
My son beamed all the way home.
Many years later my son called me from Afghanistan as a Marine, he wanted to talk to me but didn't want to scare mom...he was headed on a mission where he wasn't sure what was going to happen and recounted his interaction with coach Walsh and me and it was a pivotal moment in his life...two heroes and him. I read between the lines and knew that he was headed into some deep doo-doo.
Accolades I didn't deserve, but it was a blessing and heart wrenching at the same time... I spent some time in prayers for divine deliverance and my petitions were granted.... my son returned home with issues, but he is doing better and is still making headway.
As I said, everyone that I met from that club at that time was pure class... leadership starts at the top.

Not interested at all, but driving back into Houston the traffic was much lighter than normal, I assume because most people are parked on the couch.

Just saw the half time show. Maybe I am just getting old. But was not what I would consider a quality half time show.

KC manages to do it again. They are fun to watch because of their ability to come back. SF’s four man front gave KC fits but they finally figured it out, at least enough to pull it off. Overall, a fun game.

The Stupor Bowl is "bread and circuses". Billions of people pay attention to that fake crap while ignoring the real issues we should be paying attention to. Keep the people happy and stupid. Lowest common denominator is always a winning strategy. Turn on,tune in and drop out.

I found the game boring except for about 3 or 4 plays. All of the tribute stuff to the NFL legends was great. Halftime show was soft core porn. Commercials were bleh (at least the ones I watched).

Saw a couple of players in a Pollo Tropical fast food joint (excellent Cuban food) in Miami...I came up to their navel...got a crick in my neck looking up at their faces...those pro players are huge!

My hope is that both teams continue to flourish and meet again. Glad Reid got his ring and another win.
