Jelling's was a tobacco shop in Newark, NJ tat sold pipes under it's own name. Most were made in New York but some were also made in England and Denmark. I suspect that this is a US pipe since it's stamped Imported Briar. The folks at Blue Room Briars got some of the old unsmoked pipes and put them on their site last week I jumped on this one right away. It joins my Jelling Natural Zulu from the early 1960's.

, the pipe weighs almost nothing. The finish is a very soft blast that reminds me of the Stanwell style.

I am not a professional but being in recovery for almost 30 years I may have some insight on how to help..first of all send me the next 5 pipes you buy so you will not miss what you dont have..then admit you have a problem and its out of control...once I have received the 5 pipes I will be able to help you more!

I thought you'd notice that, Maggie. It's a Butz Chaquin Formula. Everyone needs a red pipe..

John, if I were you I would be ashamed. In the internet pipe forum world your rather snobbish showing all those "briar" pipes unless of course those are just your junker yard pipes and your just not willing to embarrass us all by showing all of your cobs. :-)

well, the red does stand out, but it's more the fact that it's turned in the exact opposite direction.... lol

Excellent collection John. I halved my collection last year. Here's what's left. I'll probably get rid of the briars in 10 years if I'm still sucking oxygen and live on my seven meers and cobs until I move on to the next phase, do my daughter a favor.

John, beautiful pipe. I like what you said about Stanwell. Actually, to me, this looks like Stanwell and Dunhill had a baby. Very nice indeed. Thank you for sharing.
I also enjoyed seeing the collections posted in this thread. Thanks all!

Thanks, professor. I really need to get more organized. I carry about 20 pipes in my bag so it's time to get serious about a storage solution.
