“Convenience fees” are only convenient for the recipient... I recently was going to buy three concert tickets, and the convenience fee was $80.00.
Waaaay past my comfort zone as I conveniently put my wallet back in my pocket at checkout.

There will always be cash. It's the only way to engage in largish criminal transactions (really large criminal transactions being the property of the government).

Electronic payments are great - until they aren't. My wife and I spent several hours on the phone with our bank and Xfinity this morning. The bank says they paid the monthly bill just like they have for the last 4 years. The money came out of our account. But Xfinity notified us we were late with the payment. It was a nightmare just getting a real person on the phone at Xfinity to explain the problem. She, of course, was almost unable to converse in English. We ended up getting the bank to fax proof to Xfinity - that the payment was sent - back on the 21st. Xfinity said they were going to put a trace on it. It ain't over yet.

It's against the law to refuse cash. It says on the bill "All Debts Public and Private". I had to have a couple of mower tires fixed today. I paid cash, but it was pre-corona cash. 😁🤠 I can think of some cashless businesses now. The one that comes to mind first is purchasing food or alcohol on U.S. airlines now... it's card only, on I believe every airline now. They don't want flight attendants handling cash. I can easily see more service industries going this route. Hard for employees to skim money that never passes through their hands .
