An Irish Cable Knit sweater given to me at age 17. I was somewhat smaller back then. The nice thing about these sweaters is they stretch out to accommodate any wearer. The quality of work in 1968 is way better than what I have seen lately from Ireland. I am sure they still produce the quality yarns and perform the excellent knitting but one has to really search for it, it seems. Ecosmart Poly sweatpants from Hanes. A pair of sheep shearling ankle high slippers with long toes curling back onto the instep. Jingle bells on the ankles announce my every step. You were doing well until the jingle bells. I have to warn the cats I am coming.

Getting colder here, so dud-modification is in order for my daily trips… Jeans (of course), a pair of comfy suede Luccheses, a dark blue Gardaí sweater, and a black puff jacket. Good for nigh-zero before going to parkas.

Good for nigh-zero before going to parkas. We're supposed to finally get some winter temps here next week. Hoping I can break out a sweater or two.

Wool blend Union Suit, Heavy Carhartt bib overalls but not quilted, thick Woolrich moth eaten wool shirt, Chippewa waterproof boots which seem to have some kind of insulation. Temperature dropping fast at 1430 hours down 6 degrees to +20 (F).

It got down to 23 here in NE Texas last night and the high was 45 and sunny. Supposed to be warmer tomorrow. The heaters didn't keep it above freezing in the wife's greenhouse so I picked up some sheets of foam insulation to put on top. Fur lined slippers with socks, and triple sweats.

nobody at the chats for now. Got in a shower, been awhile with all of wifie's needs. Clean Haband house-rags, winter socks, heaviest fleece drawstring pants, over v-neck tee, a thermal long sleeve non-descript shirt & thick vest. All mixed colors, don't care 'bout any of that. Winter parka when out & around. Thermal undies of course when out as high was 21. Now in when thermo set for 67. (course undies off after staying in...wifie's orders)!

It's warming from 22°F this am to 32°F at the moment. Fuzzy slippers, thick socks, yoga pants, long tie-dye tee, bulky Bar Harbor hoodie, nylon coat for smoking, and a leather aviator cap & goggles.

I am wearing a pair of winter boots. These are Chippewa eight inch lace ups. Water proof with an insulation layer and steel reinforced toes. Good warm boots. Problem is the soles are smooth for pavement, factory floors, etc. They are hell on snow, ice or even much. So, after years of "slipping and sliding like a weasel on a string" (Bob Dylan), I added screw on Hob Nails, about 12 per boot on the soles. Think studded snow tires only wider at 1/4 inch. The solution country men and soldiers have followed since Roman times. SO, I have to watch it on nice wood floors and on tile or concrete. The heels are left plain for smooth surface traction. On the ice and snow, they provide that improvement in traction my knees will thank me for.

"duck" rubber bottom shoes, thickest Haband drawstring pants, thermal camo vest over "work" coat, knit cap. Of course, thermal long johns. Not frigid, but windy out

Wearing the white fleece on the outside makes me look a little like a Yeti or Hoot Gibson. Roomier though.

That reduces the interior diameter of the pant legs by the thickness of the added material. I am happy to answer these complex technical questions for you when they come up. Please feel free to consult me in the future.

Usually too hot for a tie of any kind. I do wear a bolo tie to church and any other dress-up events. But we haven't had any. This really isn't a tie area. I get funny looks on rainy days when I wear a flat cap.
