I see that we've lost some icons of my youth, James Drury and Honor Blackman. Never missed an episode of the Virginian or The Avengers. They will be missed.

Honor Blackman was quite a gal. Not intimidated by men, kind of an early feminist. She was a beautyand stayed that way her entire life, it seems. I love this photo of her from WWII when she was a dispatch rider. img hosting

I remember watching an old episode of the Avengers, in that particular episode it took place at a lighthouse, I didn't realize that she was the same actress from Goldfinger..she was pretty smoking, as John said she aged gracefully.

I love this photo of her from WWII when she was a dispatch rider. img hosting I am reasonably certain she is riding an Ariel single, the 350 or 500. I had one from the late 40s and recognize the fork tightener knob and the compression release and spark advance levers on the handlebar. They were nickel plated and had a distinctive shape.
