It's a sad situation..While a lot of folks are having a real financial strain trying to afford their medications those who make them and those who sell them make Billions.

I am afraid greed and self interest have replaced many of the other values we were raised with.

Just be sure it's the same brand. I have to give my wife supplements and vitamin D kept coming up low in her blood work. It's normal after several months on the prescription stuff.

My wife takes a prolifera of medications. Total in a month a little over 8,000.00 Without insurance it would surely result in premature death for her. There is no way in Hell you can tell me that the research, production, and fees paid to make it all legal with the fed justifies the ridiculous cost of some of the medications today.

It ain’t rocket science on finding out why Pharmaceuticals are so expensive. For the foreseeable future, it is what it is, and you just have to pony up. If you have insurance and your wife’s meds are 8k a month, the costs are spread out to other insurance plan holders. (Not a criticism in any way, Jamie I have a high maintenance bride also)
It is a pretty incestuous situation with politicians and big pharma.

I had one for my Triglycerides that cost me over $250 a month out of pocket. I had to cut back on some stuff I loved but was worth it to keep from paying for that stuff.

Without Medicare Part D my wife would have to go on an extreme diet or her diabetes meds would bankrupt us. I take a lot of blood pressure pills, but they are so cheap that they are less than the deductible. The President was supposed to be working on fixing prescription prices. I wonder what happened with that? 🤔

I take Entresto, at $145.00 a month...a weekly injection for diabetes, at $225.00 a month, plus insulin at $35.00 a month...I hope The President jumps on that real soon!!!

It takes over $1bn and 10 years to bring a drug to market. It is very difficult for a new pharma company to get to market so it’s dominated by a select privileged few and the economic benefits of competition aren’t able to flourish. Other countries are dominated by generics and a bit thicker competition so there’s a lot less cost that the manufacturers take on since others are doing the R&D.
