Another beautiful day here in Pinehurst. Despite the cloudy skies and threatening weather I was able to get out on Pinewild's Magnolia course with a dear friend and play 18 holes before the rain started.
We had a great round, hardly anyone out on the course, kinda felt like we had the course to ourselves.
Ron Shot an 88, I snuck in an 81.... Not bad for a couple of 50 sumpins. ;-)
As is usually the case, I had 5 or 5 Oliva cigars during the round.
Our oldest son, Seth, came down for the weekend and made Blondie and I a wonderful Schnitzel dinner with authentic German Potato Salad.
After a game of cards with Blondie, Seth and I made our way up to the mancave. We played a game of chess while enjoying pipes and cigars.... Cigars for him this evening, pipes for me.
1st bowl was some 2011 PZ in a Hardcastle Bent Bulldog. 2nd was some Elizabethan mixture in a Dunhill Bent Billiard. Now onto my third bowl, MM965 in another Hardcastle Bent Billiard. Listening to the rain and sipping Glenrothes.
A very fine day for sure.

Sitting up in the mancave, enjoying this cooler day (for once) watching Sturgis Bike Week videos and smoking some old MM965.
Think Blondie and I will get out in about an hour and play 9 holes @ the club.

My own three burley mix in an old egg shaped pipe ,marked Made in London England. I picked this up ,as an estate,in the late seventies, it's a great smoker, with a plain and simple shape.
Next up, the same tobacco in a Mark Tinsky freehand with the Carey "magic inch" stem...freshly cleaned and fitted with a new straw-like filter, the Carey system is one of the few gadgets I've seen that deliver on their claim; they do smoke cool and dry...hot coffee as usual.
