Nice! And congratulations! Six years here and still some days you just feel like blacking out so you can have some alone time without your mind. I absolutely understand what you mean. briarbuck bring it on year 4! So far, each year piles on a little more BS. Just have to find a way to stay on top of it. We're here to help. As long as you're not looking for a reason to stop buying pipes and tobacco. ππ€

7 years but I dont work any program. 10 here. I don't do a specific program either - unless you count therapy, and never wanting my kids to meet drunk Jason.

A beautiful pipe, and a fitting opportunity to bring it into the stable.
Keep on, keeping on, Josh!

Nice! And congratulations! Six years here and still some days you just feel like blacking out so you can have some alone time without your mind. Well-said. I put on about 20 pandemic pounds, so it was either start exercising or give up whatever exercise should be burning off, so I'm now at 63 days without alcohol. I won't get into when and why I sometimes miss it, but suffice it to say that I'm appreciating my pipe a lot more and drinking more coffee...nicotine and caffeine for alcohol? I guess that's a good trade

I guess that's a good trade When I quit drinking, my coffee consumption shot through the roof. Fair trade IMO. That's what I found immediately. The calories have to come from somewhere, so I found myself adding whipping cream and sugar to my coffee. Now I'm weaning myself off that, drinking strong fresh coffee that tastes great. The perfect solution is to start jogging again, so maybe I'll do that. First...more coffee and a smoke.

Strong, fresh ground, dark, oily beans get me everytime.
Candy has been my weak spot.
Jogging? Ill pass. My job is physically demanding as it is.

Dark roast, oily, naturally frothed up like Greek coffee. I don't buy candy but I make cookies a bit, caramels, other crap. Sugar! And yeah, physical jobs call for total relaxation when not working, you will never see me exercising. Stretching sure, exertion beyond my normal shift? Hell no.

I sometimes put a little whipping cream in the bottom of the cup, whip it until it gets thick, whip in some sugar in the raw, then pour double-strong coffee carefully down the side of the cup. It's like a dessert.

There's a new coffee shop in Atlanta. I'm trying to get her to add Greek coffee to the menu.

I just read an article about cat scratch fever that can live in the brain for life and mimic Schizophrenia. Anyone been tested?

Congratulations man. Be proud. It's a tough battle. I'm currently in myself. I don't have 3yrs but I will....I hope. Any one who's faced it knows it's not as cute and dry as one is lead to believe. Enjoy your pipe π you deserve it and then some. Take care my friend.

Enjoy your pipe π you deserve it and then some. Take care my friend. Youre absolutely right. For some of us its a lot more than just putting the bottle down. I had absolutely no coping skills, AT ALL. Thats where the bottle came in. It took a lot of different types of support groups to get where I'm at today. I've never been more thankful for the new life that I've busted my arse for, and still do everyday.
