"Governments may think and say as they like, but force cannot be eliminated, and it is the only real and unanswerable power. We are told that the pen is mightier than the sword, but I know which of these weapons I would choose."~Sir Adrian
My favorite butternut burley in an old meer...haven't smoked this old boy in quite awhile.
The old gent is coloring nicely Walt. Are you the original owner , or have you had some help with that patina ??
Yes, I am the original owner additionally I acquired some 50+ years ago a carved lion that had been owned by my mentor and boss in a pipe store (a real one...sold almost only pipes and a few cigars)...he had the pipe for 50 years and had never smoked it. The patina came from my dipping the pipe in melted beeswax (50% white and 50% yellow)...gave it a nice yellowish color. Below is the lion head which I rarely smoke as my wife wanted it after I was departed.
The lion head has a bone tenon and amber stem...can't clench it as it is very brittle.
