My favorite butternut burley in an old meer...haven't smoked this old boy in quite awhile. The old gent is coloring nicely Walt. Are you the original owner , or have you had some help with that patina ??

Started out the evening with a bowl of Sutliff's Peach cobbler.
2nd bowl was Margate in a Hardcastle Bent Bulldog.

Yes, I am the original owner additionally I acquired some 50+ years ago a carved lion that had been owned by my mentor and boss in a pipe store (a real one...sold almost only pipes and a few cigars)...he had the pipe for 50 years and had never smoked it. The patina came from my dipping the pipe in melted beeswax (50% white and 50% yellow)...gave it a nice yellowish color. Below is the lion head which I rarely smoke as my wife wanted it after I was departed. The lion head has a bone tenon and amber stem...can't clench it as it is very brittle.

I opened a tin of the McClelland 5100 from last year's Richmond Pipe Show. Very tasty.

I opened a tin of the McClelland 5100 from last year's Richmond Pipe Show. Very tasty. 5100 with at least 5 years on it turns it into a sweet delight. Just finished some in a stained CG cob.
