Over the last two monthly pipe club meetings, I have been experimenting on how to comply with the COVID recommendations, while smoking my pipe. My first attempt was with a cloth mask, my wife made. This style is similar to the horrid paper / rubber band masks, but it is much more comfortable and ties on behind my head. She selected a piece of cloth that had dancing frogs on it. While, I think it adds to my dignity level, it was very bothersome to keep slipping the pipe under the mask to take another puff.
Last week, I tried using a bandana for a mask. I also used an Oom Paul pipe, since this would allow the pipe to be in my mouth and have my face largely covered. I was having great success with this technique, for a while. Then I discovered that I was becoming increasingly lightheaded. Apparently, the smoke was trapped inside my bandana.
So far, I am not content with the new smoking experience. If anyone has better suggestion, please let me know.

A wild irish mask with a double flap like underwear? Don't smoke with the mask on? Take the mask off when you smoke? The state and county have dropped all restrictions in the lightly populated County we live in and the one south of us. We still mask up for the grocery store and Walmart.

My shop/lounge doesn’t have a mask policy but I wear mine walking in and out of the shop and not in the lounge. I watched a few minutes of the meeting Saturday night and I didn’t see anyone wearing a mask. I wish they would have turned on the sound during the business portion.

I don't smoke a pipe any place but home so I don't have that problem..I do wear a mask every where I go..Though I look forward to not having to do that in the future..

Good on ya for thinking outside the box.
Try 2 oom Paul pipes, one with tobacco in it for smoking, the other empty. The empty one can be used for exhalation. 😁

I'm also trying to figure this one out. Maybe the home shopping network will offer something?

I think someone had mentioned in an earlier thread, that they had asked their wife to make a mask with a hole so he could smoke his pipes and cigars. That was a good idea back then. 😉

Probably won't come as a surprise to those of you here that know me, I'm not a fan of the mask.
Only one place I'll wear it... The liquor store.
The liquor stores in NC are State Run.
Sadly, no getting around it.

I wear a mask when mandated also, otherwise not so much. At this point, if I get covid it would be two weeks pay, which wouldn’t be so bad.
