Last night I looked at the clock and it said 8:30. I thought, "I guess I have time for a late night smoke before bed."  |

Just turned 77 today...talk about feeling old, only regret is that when I die I'll miss my wife and sweet doggie...assuming either of them last as long as me...go to sleep when I get tired and wake up usually about 7AM with pain in my back, take my pills and think about getting coffee...let wife and doggie sleep until they get up...head out to the porch and have a smoke...that is my life now and so happy to be retired and able to enjoy myself with the simple things...loving wife and doggie and a good place to meet up with my friends on the Patch...doesn't get any better!

Thanks to all, feels like family here...as it should be. The Patch has been a unique experience for many of us who have been here for a while...close friends have been developed...not just acquaintances, but actual friends...folks upon whom you can count on, folks who offered shelter a few years ago when we were fleeing a hurricane. I count this to be true friendship...not something you often find.

I know in the big picture, it's not the best, but I can't really "force" myself to sleep longer. When my brain says wake up, I do what it tells me, lol.
