Did not know where to ask this one. Move it if you need to Sparks. What do you guys/gals use to cleanse your palate when trying a new blend of tobacco?

Ice water ... nothing else paired up until I know the blend.

Water to cleanse. Milk to taste.

Water to cleanse the pallet no and then during smoking.
Nothing before smoking to cleanse the pallet - but sounds like a good idea.

Water for me too. Then it’s either an Earl Grey tea or scotch to pair depending on the time of day. One day I’ll try a glass of milk!

Water. Coffee while smoking. I just think it enhances the flavor. Maybe I'm nuts.

Sperrytops we are all nuts after about 8 months of Covid. Thank you for your suggestions. I used the water one earlier today and will use it again in about 20 min. Going to sit down and have a smoke with Joff on chat not in person. Blackhouse tonight I think first time fir either of us.

While I was smoking the Magnum Opus I had a sudden thought that milk might taste really good with it. I think it would have reminded me of a hearty bread pudding with raisins. I was too lazy to go in an get a glass.

Considering that I can't taste smoke without retrohaling, no palate cleansing is necessary.

Other Distinguished members have mentioned Dr. Pepper. I use 1% milk. Because with new tobacco I get a light coating on the tongue. This prevents tongue bite. And not being too thick I can taste the tobacco. Milk goes exceptionally well with a peach 🍑 flavor. Sorry. I ramble at times.

Just as with wine, I eat a little piece of bread. White, a piece of baguette, preferably. A small slice, finally.

A large shot of good single-malt Irish to cleanse the mouth. Another to ready the palate. By then you can forget about the tobacco...
