A couple of weeks ago I discontinued my Dish TV subscription. I have no complaints about it other than it being kind of expensive for the little time I watch it. So, now I try to follow the world developments using internet apps and internet services.
It is not the same. CBS and NBC have free Internet news services staffed by second stringers. These shows alternate vital news with how to bathe a Wombat. PBS is good about sharing their shows. I miss my news shows with the usual suspects.
I do not watch any serialized TV programs, dramas, comedies or such.
I get Amazon Prime but seldom use it. The movies have been stinkers- "The Lighthouse", "Last Days on Mars". Maybe they have something, I have not found yet.

Can’t say I blame you. The cost of cable is getting ridiculous. Guess it comes down to how much tv do you watch and what programs? Other then the news and a couple of shows, I am watching quite a few PBS shows.

A subscription to HULU live ($55 per month) will get you all of your local channels and the cable news networks and you can get a lot of sports content. Along with all the other programming. Most of them app companies offer a free 7 day test drive. www.hulu.com/welcome

I don't have TV. Haven't had it for almost 20 years. Don't miss it. But I do like movies and get them from dvd.com. MUCH cheaper than what I hear people are paying for dish-type services, plus an almost endless selection of films of all types.

I have cable and internet in a package - plus Netflix and Prime. It's expensive but we watch a lot of TV. My problem is finding something worth watching.
Things have changed in the last few years too. Used to be there were a lot of movies "on demand" that were free. Now they are charging for more and more of them.
I swear I tag a bunch of free movies as "favorites", then when I go to my "favorites" list later, they are charging for some of them. I'm starting to think they are charging for them because I put them in my "favorites" list.

I know for a fact I've put things on my Amazon favorites list, only to see the price raised before I go back to buy.

I just have bunny ears for the local channels. Not possible here. Gosh darn Ute Mountain sits squarely in the path of signals from the repeaters on Mt. San Antonio.

I sub to Amazon Primer and Netflix, Both reasonable as pricing goes. For me, I'm happy with the news on the internet. My wife however needs full cable news so we've got Comcast cable. Cost is high just to get that, but I need to make my wife happy.

I paid a pro to put up a proper over the air antennae, and it was worth every cent.
We share online subscriptions with family members and that offsets a lot of cost.
I would be content with just Britbox and Acorn.

Just put up a taller antenna mast. I would have to do the math but I am guessing in the hundreds of feet to gain line of sight. Actually, that calculation would make for an interesting winter project pastime. Thanks for suggesting it.

I'm also in the bunny ears camp. I just can't justify spending on cable TV when I can watch it at the bar down the street whenever there's an event.

We have Prime, YouTube TV, the Hallmark channel, and a few free channels on the Roku. It adds up to allot of mmoney , but the wife doesn't like to read for recreation and it is the safest thing for people our age. We do end up watching a lot of crap.

Greyhound bus station, Los Angeles, 1969. Fast forward fifty years and they still have you paying to watch by the show.

I remember riding the Dog, back in the day, actually it was Continental Trailways...man that sucked.
I grew up with parents that smoked cigarettes like locomotives in the family car, but we always had decent air exchange and it never bothered me.
Riding the bus, I felt like someone took a spiral wire brush down my throat.
Seeing the ashtrays there in the pic though, it would be nice to smoke in an airline terminal...last time I was in Vegas you could at Mccarran, in the plexiglass cubes with the slot players, but I imagine they are covid restricted now.
