Keiffers in Syracuse, NY has about 20-25 tins of the stuff. They want $25 a tin, and I don't care enough about it to buy at that price, but anyone interested that never got a chance, you might be able to call and get it shipped.

Wow, I paid $12.25 a tin at P&C.
I know that in the retail world it isn’t unusual to double the invoice cost. ( My wife worked at Hallmark) Glad that our B&M only bumps tins up a few bucks.

NY state hates tobacco. It is what it is. I buy most of my stuff online and pay a small extra tax, but nothing like that markup.

Thanks for the clarification, the governmental overlords I had not considered.
I feel bad for the B&M’s

Anything above $5/ounce is immediately depleted from my list.

Anything above $5/ounce is immediately depleted from my list. Such a rule would suck for me, as I would be smoking old butts I found on the sidewalk.

It's interesting what some people think is reasonable and not in tobacco pricing.
I had a guy that was interested in buying 10 lbs. of ODF Ready Rubbed I had. It's got 5-6 years of age on all of it, and packaged in separate food grade mylar 8 oz. portions. After a little investigation, and some advice from Pipestud, I priced it out. Currently fresh it goes for around $27 for 8 oz. Pipestud figured a $10 premium per package for the age was more than appropriate. Well, the buyer backed out saying he would just stick to buying it fresh. Apparently he thought I was going to sell it for current market prices, lol.
Moral of the story, it's only worth what someone will pay for it.

KBV and Wilke blends are top tier and run around $4.50/oz for a single ounce. This is a lot of enjoyment for the money. There is a premium to be paid for the fancy tin.

Moral of the story, it's only worth what someone will pay for it. It would be nice if there was a resource to sell properly sealed tobacco that is not in a tin commensurate for what it is worth. If you have tins, of aged tobacco's it is off to the races on prices that people are willing to pay. $20.00 extra per pound for aged pipe tobacco and sealed up in 8oz. portions is more than fair. Justin, you just need to find the right buyer...a non penny pinching old fart, that realizes that time is not on his side on cellaring and being able to enjoy aged tobacco. While I am on my soapbox, I think that it is indecent to gripe about the price someone posts tobacco for on a forum, if you aren't willing to pay the price the PM feature is a gentlemanly way to see if the seller is open to negotiation. If he isn't open to it...move on it wasn't meant to be for you.
